David Corenswet is the actor chosen to bring Superman back to the big screen. Many are eagerly anticipating the release of “Superman” which is the new movie reboot that is to start the DCU. James Gunn director will give a modern version while honoring key points of this classic superhero.
A new photo was released by USA Today which features Corenswet in full Superman attire. This showed a clear view of the new suit and his take on this iconic character while offering up the first look that many wanted.
The suit which was also featured in the recently released trailer shows vibrant colors and the classic S shield. In addition many note that Corenswet has also channeled aspects of Christopher Reeves previous role by having a similar looking hair curl creating an old time style with new techniques.
With an upcoming theatrical run in July many fans are excited to see a reboot on this well loved character. The newly released trailer also created a massive buzz gaining 250 million views in just 24 hours. With over 50 million views for the trailer it out preformed Henry Cavill's Superman's Trailer in half the time showing fans strong approval and wanting to see what this film has to offer.
While an important character he also has to reconcile with who he is and his human experience while living on Earth which gives viewers more dimensions to the character's complex personal journey. James Gunn created a mixture of humor heart and epic action which he hopes resonates with a variety of fans. The movie takes a look at not just the super aspects but also his personal needs for identity.
The new Superman will look at a younger Clark Kent which explores his struggle to combine his Kryptonian past with his earthly life. While discovering how to use his abilities, the movie features interactions with major players of the storyline including villain Lex Luthor. The movie's main purpose is to create a unique origin that has yet to be seen.
James Gunn took his direction from various forms of Superman including “Superman: The Animated Series," "Superman: For All Seasons", as well as "Action Comics #1” all of this will deliver a view that can blend many unique perspectives while maintaining character attributes that make him a popular icon. The current plans will depend greatly on how well the current series is received by fans. In his own words James Gunn stated "we're not just going to keep making movies” in order to point out the very fact of how important the up coming “Superman” film is.
While David Corenswet takes the lead as Superman, he will share his journey with familiar faces including Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor along with other actors portraying characters such as Hawkgirl, Guy Gardener, and Metamorpho to name a few. This brings new faces into the familiar world and has fans wanting to see their interactions on film.
Coreswet bulked up significantly for this role even though his prior experience didn't align with his current form. He felt as though he had a responsibility to obtain the right look for Superman after growing up in the character and feeling as though he needed to portray the hero properly. The commitment came from his passion and is said he brought a natural ability to give such a genuine character delivery.
