The first trailer for Ash is finally here! Directed by the incredibly creative Flying Lotus, this mind-bending sci-fi horror film starring Aaron Paul and Eiza González looks utterly bonkers! It's got everything—creepy aliens, intense suspense, and a whole lot of weirdness that fans are going to love. This thing is going to completely satisfy those wanting something totally different and is absolutely not tied down by genre norms!

The storyline starts with a simple premise; this amazing setup sets this entire tone and theme for that particular genre: González's character wakes up as the sole survivor of a horrific massacre; yet there are mysteries everywhere; she now needs to confront many of those aspects impacting her current reality: Is she entirely alone? Does she need to be careful around others? These mysterious developments lead to another more prominent character's introduction into the plot: a new character—Aaron Paul, playing the rescue worker,  adding a level of suspense, with their survival depending upon that delicate balance and their very conflicting opinions on everything that had just happened.

What Makes Ash So Special

This film sounds unique; and there are elements which already highlight just why this specific story has immense potential to be really special. This isn't your typical alien-invasion movie; this plot offers much more than typical storylines and there is also an exciting twist for any interested filmgoers, because that name—Neil Blomkamp! He's the mastermind behind District 9.  Being this creative force is enough to already bring incredible hype to that plot already and these aspects truly give us something exciting for fans.

The entire setup involves this haunting visual aesthetic. There are deeply unsettling images—showing González struggling with her memory and the sheer terror of discovering those ghastly results,   It’s deeply atmospheric! The entire experience is far more deeply thematic than merely trying to create a tense scene for its own sake, demonstrating incredible quality work already and we also can really tell from just the trailer itself: the director and writers didn’t want this movie to be merely an action film; there is depth and mystery involved.
