The Lion King 3 Trailer: It's Not What You Think (But it's Still Pretty Awesome)
Okay, fellow Lion King fans, let's have a chat about the elusive lion king 3 trailer – or rather, what we've been calling "Lion King 3," "Lion King three trailer," even "The Lion King 1 1/2 trailer." There’s quite the history around all this! And honestly? I couldn't find an official Lion King 3 movie trailer. Why? Because there hasn't been a numbered third movie of that story. Yet. It exists but might be found in trailers referencing entirely different trailer titles altogether, due to this show having been referred by all those mentioned alternative names; searching is tricky due to that.
There is something else; The Lion King 1 ½. Yes! It really does exist! I wouldn't call it Lion King three trailer material, it stands apart! And despite not actually having The Lion King 1 2 trailer or Lion King 3 trailer to check either; it’s still an incredible viewing experience – I didn’t actually watch those yet!
For now we do have what has been typically known as The Lion King 1 1/2 trailer which shows part of that particular storyline and characters – I was actually very, very impressed with some scenes featuring Rafiki! The thing has garnered some enormous popularity due to it starring side-characters as actual protagonists! This itself offers many avenues to completely explore a full The Lion King 1 ½ trailer.
What is The Lion King 1 ½? (Hint: It's Not a Sequel in the Traditional Sense)
Let me clear something about "The Lion King 1 ½" also often found in various forums referred to by The Lion King 1 2 trailer: this is more of a spinoff, than anything like those movies that followed after the story we saw on "The Lion King" (and not like its second one either.) The best explanation here? The Lion King 1 ½ completely focuses on retelling Simba’s whole story with an emphasis on the other side characters Timon and Pumbaa’s! They star on this spinoff too.
If anything – the success of that particular "The Lion King 1 2" project made it possible and laid the ground work for even future movies, despite neither really acting as an officially numbered series nor exactly a continuation! Yet – it also made fans wanting "The Lion King 3." A Lion King three trailer isn't exactly easy to find, however! Or for all we know an upcoming one could possibly end up continuing where this series left!
The Long-Awaited "Sequel": Mufasa: The Lion King
The great news now, everyone? This whole expectation has also spurred and generated enormous momentum for "Mufasa: The Lion King", the upcoming and actually legitimate storyline follow-up in a new "Lion King" film! If there are any real and fully "Lion King" series related titles, here is where one can be fully assured. No Lion King three trailer? But something just as grand, even greater, will be out eventually! There's already an official teaser! That is way better than whatever any previously leaked, unofficial version could have turned up; a Lion King 3 trailer just as originally intended! You even find other variations: "Lion King 3 movie trailer."
- A New Story: Mufasa, rather than a continuation of what had come up in The Lion King 1 ½ is intended to focus and explore the origin and untold past adventures starring none other than Mufasa himself. A whole storyline around him! We also find some segments showcasing those side characters we have all come to love starring together; that is absolutely incredible in itself too!
- Familiar Faces (and Voices): The cast features returning and newly appearing voice characters that fit and will complement some of what has come from older series! Having the combination appear through this show only amplifies engagement even more than we could have possibly dreamed!
- A Stunning Visual Style: Some early sneak previews appear impressive and promise the new style looks incredible in both cinematography and animation; even rivalling previous and very popular similar animation-heavy titles already shown for previous shows from both Disney and Lion King.
And yes! A trailer related to that exists – unlike the originally expected, but officially missing Lion King 3 trailer we also still don't have a whole official Lion King 3 movie trailer ready! Which certainly exists as an independent title and also not as a mere leaked "The Lion King 1 1/2 trailer."
So while that The Lion King 1 2 trailer many sought – and is effectively available across so many fan works as what could almost appear indistinguishable to how much we see of it as a complete official trailer itself, rather than mere pieces; "Mufasa: The Lion King" certainly sounds amazing, promising to add depth and complexity while building an expansive mythology – I am super excited!
