Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes Is More Than Just a Prequel
The upcoming series Young Sherlock is a prequel, and its story will show a younger version of the legendary detective working a murder case in Oxford. This event propels Sherlock to start his detective career and take those steps toward becoming the amazing crime-solver we know! The whole thing is going to have that famous Guy Ritchie spin—remember those wild, super stylised films with Robert Downey Jr? The director’s on board, so we’re guessing his wild touch is going to be part of the whole series!
Ritchie’s take on Sherlock in those Movies might’ve not been everybody’s cup of tea. Some folks thought it strayed too far from the usual Sherlock stories and took way too many liberties with how Sherlock actually worked. But we can't deny, they also had some cool ideas in those films that maybe, just maybe, will return for this Prequel!
What Will Young Sherlock Bring To The Table?
When Ritchie made his first Sherlock Holmes movie, it brought in a huge new fanbase! But that wasn't enough. There have been some new films and TV shows released (especially those with Benedict Cumberbatch!), but that "classic" take isn’t totally what people are waiting for now.
The big questions around Young Sherlock are what makes it unique? How does it build on the existing story, and how is it different from the books and other film series? Young Sherlock needs its own flavour - and that’s probably going to be about getting those characters who really enjoy Action and twists to buy in.
Sherlock's Signature Style
One thing everyone loved about those films was those outlandish fights – how the Sherlock Holmes character uses that sharp mind to strategize those really intense fights. It's so out-of-the-box, given Sherlock isn't traditionally known for getting into brawls. But it just makes for amazing moments on the screen.
Young Sherlock is not going to copy it all, that's for sure. But a bit of that Action might be a cool touch, given that a younger Sherlock might not always have those moves locked down. Imagine the scenes! He's going up against tough guys, but he’s quick on his feet – it could be intense!
Is The Fight Scene Really That Big Of A Deal?
Let’s get back to that thing that made a lot of fans mad about the Ritchie Sherlock Holmes films – it felt a bit off, especially with Sherlock not being a fighter, but more of a sharp observer and intellectual mind. I understand the issues – those action scenes really threw a wrench in the classic approach. But if you remember those first two Sherlock Holmes films, the whole goal was a mix of action and Mystery. So we have to admit it actually kind of worked for that purpose!
Here’s a huge factor: we still haven’t seen Sherlock Holmes 3 with Robert Downey Jr, and that has got the fanbase antsy! Maybe a bit of action in Young Sherlock will scratch that itch. But don't forget, it is a prequel, so the show won't be copying Sherlock Holmes totally, right? That’s how you get the whole fresh, reimagined thing, which makes those Ritchie Movies so special. The big trick will be to get everyone excited about this Prequel without giving those die-hard fans of the Sherlock Holmes series something they think they've already seen.
Taking Risks with Young Sherlock
I have this feeling Young Sherlock won’t just be a simple remake, but a new journey, as he makes mistakes and starts to explore his skills before they’re fully developed. Now that he’s not just the established super-detective that Robert Downey Jr played so well in the films, we're going to get a young, wild version of the character! That really could make it different, not just another version we've seen!
We're about to see a lot of Sherlock Holmes from all sorts of angles, so Young Sherlock can't get lost in the fray! This is the time to make something original – let us see the story that no other series or movie has ever told us before. There’s a reason everyone is stoked about Young Sherlock and its potential to bring something fresh to a beloved character who already has a history on the screen.
