Arrival of Yoshi and a Major Villager Theory
The end of The Super Mario Bros. Movie offered us a small glimpse of the future. The world of Mario and Luigi received quite unusual delivery: a large, spotted egg! Everyone's favorite green dinosaur, Yoshi, is scheduled to join the Mushroom Kingdom crew in the sequel, thus this was a big tease. Though the official word on Yoshi's position is unknown, there is a rather popular belief that he may compete against Bowser Jr. and it makes perfect sense.
Why might Mario Bros. Movie Sequel's villain be Bowser Jr.?
Regarding Mario enemies, Bowser Jr. is most certainly a top candidate for the sequel. Son of Bowser, he is a fierce opponent who enjoys wreaking havoc with his Koopalings crew. Always attempting to save his dad from Mario and retrieve Princess Peach is Bowser Jr. And Bowser Jr. has the ideal chance to take front stage as a villain since The Super Mario Bros. Movie concluded with him being captured and shrunk using a mini mushroom.
Though he's not as strong as his father, Bowser Jr. can still be a quite outstanding villain in the sequel. He could arrange Bowser's vengeance against Mario, wreaking havoc inside the Mushroom Kingdom. Then, once Bowser Jr. saves his dad, Mario and his buddies might even find him to be the main challenge before they ever reach Bowser.
Why Would Yoshi Be the Greatest Rival of Bowser Jr.?
Here now is where Yoshi comes in. Not only is Yoshi absolutely awesome and enjoys hanging out with Mario, but he also has a past with a character quite like Bowser Jr.: Baby Bowser.
Though they look so similar that they're easy to confuse, Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr. are really two distinct characters. First showing up in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Baby Bowser was the main villain. Yoshi was the hero in the game shielding Baby Mario from Baby Bowser. They were classic rivals since they battled once more in several other games.
Thus, Bowser Jr. could fit the Baby Bowser role in the sequel rather easily. It would be a fantastic approach to feature that enduring conflict on film.
Yoshi against Bowser Jr.: The Ideal Sequel Match
Imagine this: Mario is fighting Bowser while Yoshi is fighting Bowser Jr. That would be a legendary clash! Mario's primary attention should always be on Bowser, thus it would make logical sincebows Jr. shouldn't be as much of a concern. Having Bowser Jr. fight with Yoshi would provide both of them fantastic narratives.
Like the other sides of a coin, Yoshi and Bowser Jr. are opposite. Mario's loyal friend is Yoshi; Bowser Jr. is loyal to Bowser. Their possible rivalry is quite fascinating since they are ideal opposites for each other. Giving Yoshi his own starring part in the sequel would also be fantastic.
Bowser Jr. Might Create Conditions for a Yoshi Spinoff
Should the sequel follow this Yoshi-Bowser Jr. rivalry, it might even result in a whole fresh Yoshi film! Like the venerable Yoshi's Story game, it could be a spinoff delving into all the entertaining aspects about the Yoshi family.
Beginning from the rivalry with Bowser Jr., a Yoshi spinoff might even make Bowser Jr. the primary villain. Thus, for the Super Mario Bros. Movie franchise, this whole Yoshi vs. Bowser Jr. concept could be quite significant since it creates all kinds of fresh opportunities.
