Although it was the Jedi Council, specifically Qui-Gon Jinn, who suggested Anakin was the prophesied "Chosen One" in the series, you can imagine why someone as experienced and powerful as Mace Windu could have concerns, and even a strong degree of Star Wars distrust of such a child! What Caused Mace Windu to Die?
This is probably the one of the biggest, most painful events that shaped Star Wars history. The conflict that ultimately led to Mace Windu's death is closely tied to his ongoing distrust. It resulted from Mace confronting Palpatine directly as he sought to intervene with a dark side attempt to gain absolute power. This ended up playing right into Palpatine's plans, and led to the deaths of a huge number of Jedi, but especially Mace Windu!
