Though it's hard to say exactly how Powell would have performed as Han, it's reasonable to suppose he would have done a decent job. Powell's warmth and friendliness would have made him ideal for Han Solo, the roguish but charming scoundral. He also has expertise portraying ethically difficult characters, including the haughty yet finally decent-hearted Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick. That part would have fit exactly a younger Han who hadn't yet acquired the redemption he found in the first Star Wars trilogy.
Originally from Corellia, Han Solo left the Empire to operate as a smuggler, then spent years working for the Hutts as a spice runner. When Han consented to bring Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker to Alderaan from Tatooine, his life was irrevocably altered and he quickly grew to be a vital Rebel Alliance member. After the Battle of Endor, Han's love with Leia Organa became the subject of folklore. They married soon afterwards. Tragically, their bond came apart when their son Ben descended into the dark side and finally killed Han. Still, recollections of Han enabled Ben to return to the brightness.
Glen Powell recently said that although he "blew" the audition, he tried out for the Han Solo role in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Though Powell has since starred in several well-known films as Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You, his career has not simply been successful. One of the most cherished and powerful non-Force users in Star Wars, Powell almost starred in the origin story of Han Solo. Eventually, though, he missed out on the part as well as his opportunity to feature in a Star Wars film; he just clarified why.
Powell told Ben Allen of GQ he was in the running to play the title character in Solo but he failed the last audition.
He recalls, "I can joke about it now [but] I blew that final audition."

For various DC and Marvel heroes, Powell has grown to be a famous fancast; nevertheless, it was recently discovered that Powell has no interest in joining the MCU. Though Ehrenreich deftly depicted Han, several viewers objected to Solo's performance at the Box Office. Ehrenreich clearly veered off course with the character, which was justified given he portrayed Han quite differently than Harrison Ford did, but Powell might have been more in line with Ford's portrayal. Given various issues with Solo's filmmakers, it's difficult to estimate how much Powell would have had on his performance; some viewers would have been more happy with him than Ehrenreich.
Although Powell's lost opportunity to represent Han Solo would have presented an unusual interpretation of the character, Ehrenreich's performance is nonetheless really decent. Given his performance, Solo is most likely one of the underappreciated Star Wars films. Ehrenreich gave some really insightful analysis on how the legendary character came to be and fully grasped the attitude of Han even before he joined the Rebel Alliance. Glen Powell could have performed just as brilliantly in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but his last audition went less than perfect.
