Joaquin Phoenix did a phenomenal job bringing the character of "The Joker" to life.
Fans are going to be shocked by what was going on! "The Joker," one of the biggest, bad guys, had an Origin Story in 2019. That was before they even released "Joker: FoLie à Deux". If you have seen either movie, what's fascinating is "The Joker," the film had a lot of mysterious moments that we had no answer to! This included a big moment with his mom, "Penny.".
The Mystery Of Arthur Fleck's Mother
In "The Joker,", Penny said Arthur's dad, "Thomas Wayne," was the man she was with before he was born. If that's not wild enough, the truth? No one ever found it! The question is, was this real or a way for "Penny" to make "Arthur" feel more worthy as his mother struggled through some real-world difficulties. Fans were left to guess as "The Joker" went on to reveal the big truth about "Penny," it turned out, she was not "Arthur's" real mom. That sent "Arthur" down the dark road! He was going to become the character that fans came to know, but the sequel movie
Joker: FoLie à Deux
tried to explain what actually went down.
Joker: FoLie à Deux- What Did We Learn About Penny?
It's an epic sequel to "The Joker." but it wasn't enough for some to enjoy what the filmmakers brought to the screen. There is also a new look into what happened between Penny and "Arthur," who will go on to have his major mental breakdowns as this story unfolds, making this a truly unique and thought-provoking adventure for DC Comic's fans.
- While the first movie was released back in 2019, we also got to find out that there wouldn't be a third. It's not about how great the characters and performances were. The plot was what many thought had an unbelievable twist in "The Joker."
- "Joker: FoLie à Deux" gave audiences a little more into what went down and may show how much of a darker, evil role this mom might have played in the way "Arthur" ultimately came to be! Even in the sequel we really aren't 100% clear.
The truth about "Arthur's" parents really came in the trial scene from "Joker: FoLie à Deux!" Even though it wasn't about Thomas Wayne as an official figure.
The Trial In "Joker: FoLie à Deux"
It turns out, the trial scene did a wonderful job in creating more information and details to how his mother played her role, including how much she didn't want him to understand who he really was. While this took the world into a deeper rabbit hole, "The Joker," made some things more evident about what his mom's legacy had been to the entire Film.
- "Arthur" finally admitted he killed his mother.
- In the process revealed an interesting perspective!
What he really made clear was she kept her horrific actions secret so "Arthur" wouldn't ever find out just how despicable she truly was and why the world may have felt like it turned its back on him.
But, to add to the dark, crazy part of the plot, there were multiple instances, as revealed in "Joker: FoLie à Deux" and it was during his trial for murdering multiple individuals in the original film! There's just so much that was left to viewers' imaginations and the movie's end wasn't a nice moment for the character and everyone involved!
