The Platform 2: Netflix's Dystopian Thriller Gets a Twisted Prequel

The Netflix horror movie, The Platform, was one of those hits that shook up audiences, but this new installment takes things in a way that is as disturbing as the first movie, The Platform 2! The first movie had such a big impact. It was released in 2019, with its story based on a fictional prison and what seems to happen with a brutal, harsh reality and the way that society was structured. You may wonder how it comes back to this original story. Well, this series tells a story with characters that deal with all those major struggles in a prison in this crazy setting!

The story takes a unique turn and is centered around Perempuan (played by Milena Smit). She is another character with incredible talents, adding to the mystery and excitement! This movie offers new perspectives but never quite reveals just how this bizarre world, full of turmoil, is created or the motives behind it!

A Key Figure Returns- Trimagasi

You can never have too much surprise in this Movie!

In the most recent edition, we get a surprise re-emergence! It appears that this new movie brings back the memorable, violent Trimagasi (played by Zorion Eguileor.) He gives fans something extra to watch. This time around, it appears the prison was much more functional.

What was strange was the fact that Trimagasi had a huge, brutal history, but he had been doing some truly weird things and tried to attack Goreng, with the goal to eat him!

And since the main goal is Survival, it seemed he was on his way to winning that struggle! Even more so, he also tells a pretty big story about the way things actually functioned in this place.

A History of Violence in The Platform

This new storyline might take those viewers to the first film to get a little more depth. The way things unfold in "The Platform 2," shows that things are more chaotic than in the first version! Goreng (played by Iván Massagué) , an awesome character, saved the young girl's life. And he really hoped that his action might help to make changes for the world and send that message, to really change things and make everyone safe. The Platform 2 even gives those viewers some of that story with an awesome scene about those characters trying to create a much fairer environment, while The Platform 2 seems to be a bit more violent as these characters are willing to use a form of extreme, brutal justice, rather than helping all prisoners get a better meal! It shows a different way for things to be organized.

How The Platform 2 Connects

With Trimagasi appearing, fans will understand that the second Movie doesn't exactly pick up after the events, rather, we get to see things unfold a year prior. But those watching may think the movie is taking viewers back to the past.

But that doesn't mean that these two stories are totally separated!

The creators really thought it out. Those who are well acquainted with the "Platform" franchise can spot several, interesting connections, as well!

This show features a variety of characters from the first, a lot of those actors show up for a short time in The Platform 2. Some of those actors to get excited about include, Emilio Buale's Baharat and Antonia San Juan's Imoguiri and they are in a memorable scene to watch!

There's even a special scene where viewers can see how the world continues. With a character, Alexandra Masangkay's Miharu making a brief return!
In the new movie, the Administration had a scheme to see if people would really step up!

It seems as if this storyline only brought up more questions, making it hard to really know what's going on!
