Terrifier 3 Ending Explained: Art the Clown's Hellish Return!

The film is filled with disturbing content, but also dives deep into some powerful lore, bringing more context to this cult classic. The movie brings back Sienna Shaw (played by Lauren LaVera), who takes on Art the Clown for round two!

But even better? It also gives Victoria Heyes an awesome return! The original final girl now has a dark twist to her appearance. She's now possessed! And she teams up with Art the Clown, bringing a terrifying new chapter in the story.

Sienna vs Art and Vicky

This is not for the faint of heart. This battle isn't easy! Sienna struggles! As Art the Clown and the possessed Victoria Heyes set about torturing and killing innocent bystanders. Even Sienna's aunt and uncle, and young cousin Gabbie were in peril! What stood out from this chilling storyline? There was so much to this part. Sienna's family were captured by Art the Clown and Victoria. Sienna is then offered a horrible choice to be corrupted.

Thanks to Gabbie's clever scheme! Sienna gets a second chance, finding a magical weapon and ends the terror.

You might think that ends it all, right? Nope! The show continues! There was another dark twist, as blood creates a portal and Gabbie, takes a fall into something far more terrifying. Sienna tries to rescue Gabbie, but things don't quite go as planned.

What Happened To Gabbie?

A conversation from earlier explains that Art and Vicky, weren't exactly human! Demons had found a way from Hell to earth and it means Gabbie likely fell into hell and it turns out Sienna made a vow that looks like its foreshadowing. We find out that Sienna will eventually make it to hell!

What Happened To Jonathan?

Sienna's brother, Jonathan almost made it out alive from his experience in Terrifier 2. Unfortunately, it looks like Art and Vicky catch up to him. Although Jonathan's death wasn't witnessed on-screen it is revealed that a rat-chewed head in a cage could have potentially belonged to Jonathan! However, Vicky's history of lying about people, might mean that she just may have gotten away with a lie, potentially foreshadowing Jonathan's return.

Why The Demons Wanted Sienna:

This is going to sound crazy, but Sienna is special! There's this battle for good and evil! The demon in this movie didn't happen all at once.

Art was evil. He's a serial killer! The demons really use Art as a conduit. A portal. It looks like it was a choice he never wanted, which made him a major target!
Vicky had her issues, and that made her easier for demons to infiltrate.

Now with Art and Vicky making their terrifying returns! Sienna has this amazing ability to overcome the worst threats!

The demons view Sienna as the biggest challenge.
Possessing Sienna would mean an incredibly strong new form for these evil entities!
Something inside Sienna gave her a real, potent fighting chance! Her father once created this angel for her which made Sienna incredibly tough to defeat and that's why she is able to not only fight them but to also heal quickly!

Religious Symbolism:

The film is filled with tons of religious elements! And not only in its themes, even the story takes a direction that has many hints to Christianity. Vicky's crown of thorns adds extra emphasis. A crown that resembles what Jesus Christ bore on his path to being crucified, a truly intense symbol and this added another layer to the movie!

Even more terrifying are these scenes where Art the Clown gives his take on the crucifixion, by nailing Sienna's uncle on a wall in a way that is truly shocking! And there's this one last haunting detail of putting his head in a place where you usually see "an angel." The whole idea of a "sword", can also be considered religious as it's typically wielded by Michael, an archangel!

You are sure to wonder, but what will come next? Well, this one is super clear!

Sienna vows revenge! As she vows to bring back Gabbie!
Art may show up. Although there's no post credit scenes we do get this huge reference to "The 9th Circle" from a character.

This seems almost certain to hint at what comes next. Given the references to Dante's Inferno and "The 9th Circle", you get this strong feeling that there are many more horrors to come. A "Terrifier 4", is not a surprise at all! Given the reception to "Terrifier 3," we could very well see how the movie will come together, with so many new terrifying scenes on the way, including how it connects back to "The Clown Café."

Themes In Terrifier 3

There is more than just gore in "Terrifier 3." This show also brought trauma to the forefront. You've heard the stories and know about its intensity! But Sienna's storyline looks to connect in so many meaningful and unique ways!

From the opening you will get some haunting references that connect to Sienna's life! We even learn why she avoids certain food items! That trauma was caused by Art the Clown!

But what makes it special? Well this has gone on for five years. She's not only had moments of terrifying experiences. She's battled the grief from her loss, particularly since the loss of both her parents.

You will get to feel this in your heart as these themes play out and the scenes build. You see how powerful the messages in "Terrifier 3" really are as you consider what could come next!

While this movie brought terror, these messages are essential to discuss, as this film brings to audiences. With its haunting elements and truly horrifying gore, it has everything a horror fan could dream of! Even after it ends, Terrifier 3, is not the ending and the audience gets ready to feel this tension all over again in "Terrifier 4," and this upcoming sequel should be considered a top priority!
