Smile 2: Morris Explained – The Shocking Truth Behind the New Character

Smile 2: Unmasking the Mystery of Morris – Friend or Foe?

Smile 2's Creepy New Character: Unraveling the Enigma of Morris!

Smile 2 ups the ante from the original, leaving fans with plenty of questions! One character creates more mysteries than answers: Morris. He's completely new in this sequel but quickly becomes central! He shows up in surprising ways; a mix of seeming helpfulness coupled with unnervingly strange behaviors that are completely at odds with the rest of that story's progression.   This mysterious figure stalks Skye Riley (our pop-star protagonist haunted by the demonic Smile curse), offering assistance, yet always adding something more sinister, resulting in many plot questions.

This sequel's unique approach escalates the original Smile’s horror. This expansion of that earlier storyline's horrific aspects expands its scope, making a large scale expansion which ultimately targets a global icon;  instead of just a single therapist, this terrifying and supernatural horror creates far larger consequences, demonstrating why even popstars are affected.

Morris isn't some returning character, despite that initial impression for those casual watchers! This isn't a simple addition. His entrance changes the scale; demonstrating that this sinister Smile curse reaches into other people’s lives unexpectedly.  His past impacts much of the present (that he appears as a character, showing that this is no mere coincidence; demonstrating he is completely critical to resolving some important aspects, not all shown yet!). He tells Skye his brother was a Smile victim (the one before Skye; thus making Skye the eighth), creating this entire driving narrative around vengeance which shows that this entire plot doesn’t focus only on the present characters, but also includes far wider themes!

This past affects how Morris perceives everything around him; highlighting some serious thematic aspects including self-blame and guilt that are present throughout many scenes between Morris and Skye. This background helps shape Morris' unwavering belief that the curse is real, not merely some hallucination or imagined fear, as Morris himself tries to solve this through investigating; demonstrating his active and constant role in tracking the curse's actions.

Morris was chasing the Smile demon long before Smile 2 starts. It started with that first encounter involving his brother; the encounter resulted in his decision to become involved in investigating its very actions! Yet, that experience, made far more problematic after that fateful encounter involving Joel, further fueled Morris to pursue this; continuing the pursuit through tracking multiple victims throughout this supernatural saga; demonstrating the long trail left by that horrific, lingering presence which serves to completely and unexpectedly shape how various encounters unfold, some of which, result in tragic losses!

Lewis's death, however unexpectedly witnessed by Skye, shifts everything once more! Morris was still tracking Lewis; which leads him to get Skye's number; eventually making contact (creating those mysterious texts suggesting someone was after Skye). It sets things up; making his actions towards the later parts of this movie entirely understandable; justifying Morris’s continued interference throughout this horror film’s entire progression!

Morris thinks he found a way to permanently defeat this insidious supernatural foe: make its host die (before that host is killed by the curse); ensuring it lacks an available recipient to which it might transfer; completely ending that horrific cycle and ultimately achieving long-awaited peace through resolving this major problematic horror! That involves temporarily stopping Skye's heart, waiting for the Smile to leave, and then reviving her in a plan with significant risks and possible tragic consequences which serve to raise additional plot concerns throughout those latter sections of the film!

That finale brings this insane plan; he lures Skye to an abandoned Pizza Hut; where they attempt to resolve that looming danger, although Skye’s involvement results in unexpected betrayals from those surrounding her! This final showdown involves risky attempts at saving Skye; involving potentially deadly procedures in a frozen environment which serves to set things up toward that final showdown, adding yet another terrifying possibility.

Morris: Human or Illusion? A Twist Ending

The very ending throws that massive curveball. Morris mysteriously leaves just before putting that dangerous plan into motion; a questionable decision, perhaps an illusion. Previous Smile victims have experienced Smile-created illusions, suggesting a far more sinister, unexpected purpose; adding additional confusion and that sense of danger for any lingering audience who failed to grasp this sinister presence! Morris might have just been an incredibly dangerous piece of the curse; using him to give hope; ensuring that he serves only one goal for this terrifying, mystical evil.

Conclusion: Morris’s Presence Leaves a Long-Lasting Mark

Morris’s character isn't merely some addition. The way he was written showcases immense skill, as it greatly shapes the narrative in subtle yet immensely powerful ways, generating further excitement over what had occurred and will further generate further anticipation! He adds intense tension and layers that were largely absent in the original Smile. He represents more than just one single character, serving as an exploration of vengeance, and exploring its unexpected outcomes; and a possible representation of those illusions possible under certain terrifying scenarios!
