G'iah's story becomes even more perplexing based on Sentry's MCU introduction.
A poor attempt to adapt the same-name comic run, Secret Invasion introduced the idea that Skrulls have been invading and copying Earth's people for years, which finally amounted to rather little. It is revealed that following the Battle of Earth, known as "The Harvest," Fury had set up an operation to gather DNA samples from the Mcu's superpowered characters, reduced into a formula obtained by two Skrulls, Gravik and G'iah.
Gravik passed at G'iah's hands, however the show left the latter as a living Super-Skrull able of using the abilities of many Mcu characters. Then presumably hired by Olivia Colman's Sonya Falsworth to work on an unidentified covert project—probably a British superhero team—she was
Thunderbolt's Next God-Tier Threat Makes the Most Powerful Hero Pointless in the MCU
One character set to show up in *Thunderbolts* has rendered the most potent character in the MCU utterly useless. Under most likely some pressure, *Thunderbolts* will feature a plethora of MCU antiheroes and erstwhile villains teaming together. The squad consists of some of the more subdued MCU characters whose powers aren't usually on the same level as those of Thor or Doctor Strange, hence their teamwork is even more interesting as they will probably be underdogs in any job Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assigns them.
This is particularly true should casting rumors be taken into account. Not only will *Thunderbolts* see the likes of Ghost and Taskmaster swap villainous roles for heroic ones, but all indications point to the potential they will be running alongside a character so strong they would even give Hulk a run for his money. Mostly because Sentry is a character unlike anything the MCU has seen so far, the excitement for Marvel's response to Superman is approaching fever pitch as the *Thunderbolts* release date approaches. That would be accurate, at least absent *Secret Invasion*.
Characters Who Share Powers With G'iah Right Now
Characters Now Share Powers With G'iah: Captain Marvel, Thanos, Drax, Hulk, Ghost, Ebony Maw, Korg, Mantis, Groot
For this alone, G'iah is already among the most potent MCU character; yet, Sentry's ascent to that position is about to be discounted. Though *Secret Invasion* did not land, Marvel could have at least given it some significance by assigning G'iah, the overpowered enemy the Thunderbolts are meant to subdue some relevance. Rather, it seems that Sentry will play that position.
Why The Many Overpowered Characters in The MCU Are Starting To Create Issues?
The newest characters to help with a power-scaling issue in the MCU will be G'iah and Sentry. For the MCU, juggling the reality that Hawkeye and Black Widow stand shoulder to shoulder with Thor with their clear disparity in power has been challenging even in its early days. The franchise has had to drastically weaken the Hulk to guarantee his colleagues look just as, if not more, powerful by contrast for instance.
More and more people like Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch since then make include someone like Kate Bishop in the Avengers roster seem nearly ridiculous. Though the disparity in power between the titular team in *Thunderbolts* and Sentry is certain to make for some interesting viewing, Sentry's entrance provides yet more cause to ask what part modest individuals may play in a franchise so packed with so many godlike beings. At least they will supply many of underdogs for viewers to support in the next years.
Many MCU characters come back for Phase 5's Thunderbolts, a squad of antiheroes and former villains trying to replicate the Avengers.
Marvel's *Thunderbolts* is a superhero film derived from the same-named comic team. The film fits in the fifth phase of MCU films. The movie features the likes of Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell, the Red Guardian, and more as an improbable team of heroes and villains united to fight for good.
Combining personalities like Zemo, who oversaw the events of *Captain America: Civil War*, and Val, who has enlisted them for an unidentified assignment, the team will be a singular bunch. Though their abilities are less than those of Thor or Captain Marvel, they will nonetheless be in some capacity in charge of protecting the planet. Though it's not totally clear how they would cooperate, the *Thunderbolts* could wind up among the most potent teams in the MCU.
Instead, due to the poor reception, G'iah may well be swept under the rug as the MCU forges ahead with new characters who could ostensibly wipe the floor with a litany of underdog characters like most of the Thunderbolts. There's a chance she could return in *Avengers 5* or *Secret Wars*, but the audience awareness of *Secret Invasion* being so low may make that too difficult. Now gone feels as the only decent chance to get G'iah back.
