Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot has gotten the remake treatment and this new adaption hits Max this October 2024.

  • Ipswich. This location in Massachusetts, featured a key moment in the show! Fans who watched "Salem’s Lot" know that the town jail is an iconic location, the same one that is featured where Father Donald Callahan woke up.
  • Sterling was a big help to make the scene where Matt Burke, Mike Ryerson and Danny Glick were featured.
  • A great, visual setting is Clinton! Fans of "Salem’s Lot," may be able to pick out several home interiors in the movie!

For those who love movies, there are certain locations that are known! You'll notice one spot in particular is where a very popular scene is featured! Princeton Public Library.

The library features the writer, Ben Mears. As he looks for a cool inspiration for his book and looks for some insight. This was even an important spot where Susan Norton, along with her mom, goes to try to catch Ben's eye and get their first chance at getting together! What makes this setting a lot more cool, is how visually incredible it really is. It had to have a modern makeover because this location is filled with computer and digital screens! All of these modern aspects had to be removed and replaced so audiences feel the authenticity and era that is featured.

Those of us who were around back in the 1970s! You may be nostalgic and love seeing "Salem’s Lot," get re-made with more modern production and design. The new movie comes alongside two versions! The 1979 adaption as well as another version in 2004 with Rob Lowe.

  • 1979. They got so lucky to find an amazing spot that would make a town that's super creepy and spooky for a film in California called "Ferndale."
  • 2004 the big set of "Salem’s Lot", it had some incredible sets but the story itself was filmed in Australia!

"Salem’s Lot" in both the 1979 and 2004 movies wasn't really filmed where the novel took place, but rather locations in the United States, bringing this great horror story to the world's audiences.

However, the show that made it all the way back in the 2000s? The 2004 version was really filmed "down under" in Australia. That makes "Salem's Lot" such a visually compelling story with different takes and interpretations. All these movie releases and their iconic adaptations continue to prove the strength of the franchise and that they are making their way onto more screens than ever before.

Now that the newest "Salem’s Lot, comes out on Max. This is certainly a must-see for fans of this author who's known for the amazing ability to capture fear.
