A Shocking Death in the Original Book:
We all have those moments in "Salem's Lot" when we really feel terrified! Gary Dauberman made some of his most popular films with "It," "Annabelle" and other classic horror titles!
He changed the movie, but what really changed was how the story is going to be told. And one of those changes was a gruesome death for one of the key players.
In the original novel by Stephen King, we see one of those memorable deaths as Dr. Cody meets an unfortunate fate. What happened? Well, the characters found themselves in an abandoned place, known as a "Marsten House." In that scary home, Dr. Cody stumbles around in the darkness, falling onto a set of knives! These knives were part of a cruel plan set out by vampires who are out to get their next victim. It seems it didn't stop there, this particular scene also ended with a truly terrifying demise that got adapted over the years.
While in the "1979 television movie! That death was adapted by having one of the vampires "Straker" as the person who killed "Dr. Cody.
It happened right when the vampire pushed "Dr. Cody" toward the wall. He used horns, a pretty creepy weapon as well!
When they produced "Salem's Lot" as another television series, in "2004," the story still needed a touch up! A new take! This time the villain used an "electric buzzsaw."
A creative way to ensure "Dr. Cody" is met with a horrible fate. These moments that have always made Stephen King's, work so powerful, and leave fans with that lingering creepiness!
What Happened To Dr. Cody In Salem's Lot:

- Dr. Cody was given a big role in this film!
- It seemed like they found themselves with the other characters at a big area where vampires hung out. The drive-in.
- It appeared that Dr. Cody was about to try and defeat the monster.
It wasn't that easy for the heroes, and Anne shows up as a vengeful, power hungry creature!
It seemed as if Anne decided that "Dr. Cody" was the perfect way to make a statement against her! To stop her!
That means no happy ending!
It really gives a more shocking ending. Because what fans were looking for and expecting is a more straightforward vampire story that has a little less shock and a little more traditional gore!
