What Were the Similarities Between Rise of Skywalker and Endgame?
A lot of people saw a ton of similarities between the two! They both marked the ends of great series! Avengers: Endgame closed out the MCU Infinity Saga, and Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker completed the Star Wars Skywalker Saga, giving the last movie a massive legacy, though it is possible Rise of Skywalker will remain one of the least liked entries for the series.
Did the Rise of Skywalker Use Good Ideas from Endgame?
Despite having similar moments, Endgame and The Rise of Skywalker are both polarizing for many fans! It may appear the story got more critical reception than Rise of Skywalker. Rise of Skywalker received many criticisms about being overly long and being more a spectacle for the sake of spectacle, a lot of Star Wars sequel trilogy fans found issues, with many also suggesting that Rise of Skywalker did not deliver the same quality as Avengers: Endgame.
Why Was the Final Battle in Rise of Skywalker So Controversial?
Here's the big one: Both Movies used a similar moment at the end. In Avengers: Endgame, Thanos thought he had control over everything. However, Iron Man says, "And I… am Iron Man", and destroys Thanos! That became one of the iconic moments of Avengers: Endgame. But the finale to The Rise of Skywalker featured a similar moment! How Does Palpatine’s Role in Rise of Skywalker Compare To Thanos?
There is definitely a big debate here. Even with Ian McDiarmid's iconic return to play Palpatine Rise of Skywalker, he still does not get the same treatment from fans. While not all the Star Wars sequel trilogy entries are a huge success for fans, the Star Wars Skywalker Saga will always be important to Star Wars.
