Now, this might sound shocking, but this might actually be a bad call for the entire franchise. It has been so successful – nearly every film has done well with critics. It would make a lot of sense for this movie to keep going, with Tom Cruise, but there is another reason, an even bigger one!

Have you noticed? Tom Cruise keeps upping his game with each new Mission: Impossible movie! You’ve got the original film - more like a classic spy flick where everything’s pretty serious and full of sneakiness. But with each new movie, everything gets bigger! Those big-money Stunts and the super crazy setpieces - like vehicle chases that literally go across entire cities and epic fight sequences! We all look forward to the next film to see how crazy Tom is gonna make things.
This might be what sets Mission: Impossible apart. And, we gotta say – Tom’s passion for these Movies comes from his willingness to do the most incredible Stunts! I can’t imagine seeing someone hanging off a plane by just their hands (which Cruise actually did, like no big deal) without knowing it's Tom. So I’m thinking this entire thing about Tom exiting the series? It's kinda unthinkable right now. We could lose the big stunts. That would change how much fun those movies are to watch!

I’m thinking it might be a case of "it's the end of an era", and we can't be sure what the franchise's next step might be. We could have another actor, another reboot. But without that energy from Tom Cruise, I have a feeling the series will just be a whole lot different – not as wild, not as unique.
Maybe they’ll go back in time and explore Ethan Hunt’s origins, maybe they'll tell a brand new Spy story, maybe they’ll throw in a new character to lead the charge. Who knows? Right now, with Mission: Impossible 8 on the horizon, it seems like we might be saying goodbye to Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt. However, it’s not entirely the end. The future of Mission: Impossible is up for grabs, so there’s a lot of potential! We've got to remember this series is full of twists, and sometimes those unexpected twists end up being the coolest! I’m holding onto the belief that the franchise will continue, even with new characters, and that those stunts will keep pushing the limits! We can always hope!
