With such dedication and appreciation for the existing movies – and with so many fans craving more, is MaXXXine the actual end for the series, or is this simply a setup for what’s to come? Since X (2022), this awesome horror trilogy continuously delivers. Pearl (2022) created that killer cliffhanger ending; hinting at an incredible and surprisingly satisfying continuation in MaXXXine (2024)! But while MaXXXine received positive reviews, it’s widely considered the weakest of the three— yet leaving plenty of potential in this amazing horror narrative. There are possibilities which this movie has introduced that no other could.

An interview with Bloody Disgusting reported this somewhat ambiguously– stating that he has this "weird idea." And in a subsequent interview, with Entertainment Weekly, this was stated differently: “I do have one idea that plays into these movies that could maybe happen... I don't know if it'll be next. It might be. We’ll see.”

However, this attitude has undergone another change in that specific time frame! Ti West totally changed course following a Reddit AMA on r/movies. This time, this new revelation suggests otherwise; stating this directly: "would love to keep working with mia. X trilogy prob done though. happy with where we left it." Those comments made it abundantly clear how he really does feel! Those previous mentions of further potential expansion in X have seemingly gotten completely dropped– even though they seemed to have been something he felt very passionate about not too long before!

The reasons for his shift in thought could range from the overall success of MaXXXine or increased fan demand—demonstrating those various and numerous factors which go into shaping final creative decisions. Those decisions could greatly shape future narratives! These things, when handled well could lead to satisfying continuations that could still remain entirely engaging for a far broader audience than was possible if this was just a singular, limited series alone!

For now, West says he's good with the trilogy as-is. And honestly? That makes sense considering his commitment to X over the past three years, those immense efforts could very well make the creators tired and desiring something entirely different! The quality remains surprisingly excellent. And honestly? A great trilogy often seems to become the best outcome, compared to creating further content without ensuring high levels of quality! Ending well feels often far better than poorly stretching a solid and high-quality story! Ending on a solid point, rather than continuing and dragging that series past that prime time frame seems like something many would agree with.

MaXXXine might conclude Mia Goth and Ti West’s slasher journey! The finality presented seems completely intentional and fitting given what has already transpired previously, providing additional emotional impact on viewers! While we might desire more; sometimes, ending strong really feels much, much better than adding something poorly made.
