Julia Garner's Horror Projects: 'Apartment 7A' and the New 'Wolf Man'

Julia Garner is one of the most well known up and coming stars in the world! You know her for a slew of projects like Inventing Anna, and The Woman King. Now she's branching out and into another exciting field, making an appearance in two projects based off popular classic horror films!.

It all began as "Apartment 7A" was released and a little controversial! Many fans didn't think it lived up to the hype. The film, a prequel of sorts for the classic horror movie Rosemary’s Baby didn't bring fans to the theaters or even generate a lot of conversation about the plot. Many said it lacked any of the elements that made Rosemary’s Baby one of those films people love. You get an intense understanding that Garner, being a popular, well respected star! Might find a lot more success!

A New Twist on a Classic

Even though, some of Garner’s recent projects, may have been a bit of a flop in terms of critical reception, a lot is on the line when she releases "Wolf Man!" It will hopefully generate buzz among horror lovers and everyone who was hoping for an update on "Apartment 7A. 

What might stand out to many viewers! There are some very unique ways the new, classic film that takes on the 1941 movie is different from its prior version.

This time around, Garner plays Charlotte in the remake!

That is not only interesting, but audiences are getting ready for January 2025! The month is when the movie is coming out and could generate a huge amount of buzz for Garner and fans of these horror adaptations!

How Apartment 7A Faired Critically

Some critics seemed to really like "Apartment 7A," which didn't receive the best reception among those who have followed "Rosemary’s Baby." The critics who had mixed feelings really made their point clear and it left fans with a sense of dismay about this project, saying it felt more like a reboot than a prequel.

• This prequel took on a key part of Rosemary's Baby's lore that involved Terry who was just briefly shown,
• She made a small appearance but the reason for her death wasn't totally revealed until this prequel came out!

As the prequel to "Rosemary’s Baby". The premise wasn't too original and many felt like it wasn't well done. So, you might want to check out "Apartment 7A" but there are lots of more recent projects in the horror genre!

As a critic's view on the story that Garner stars in! It sits at "Rotten" status! It didn't even get a rating over 40% and received an "Rotten" status.

But Garner's upcoming show will bring audiences something better. 

Wolf Man And Its Success

The world of "Wolfman," has had two adaptations and this version has the potential for something awesome!

This latest show, being directed by Leigh Whannell, also boasts that Jason Blum is onboard.  Both are famous for delivering a few, incredibly famous films, "Blumhouse," the company, known for Get Out, and "The Invisible Man."

The world of "Wolf Man" will bring viewers a unique storyline set in "Oregon.", taking this new approach to tell a modern story about werewolves that should captivate audiences, adding its own distinct style.

Whannell who brought to the big screen "The Invisible Man", shared some key insights that had critics all excited. They feel it will bring some cool changes, which can really create something truly memorable in the horror genre!

A Divisive Remake

It is understandable why many might feel a bit conflicted, and what's most intriguing, there might even be more excitement!

• A key element about why there's a big sense of uneasiness.
• A prequel that isn't all that good.

To create a better film.

• Make sure to do more than simply add another entry! It looks to be a pretty compelling horror adaptation
• And fans will appreciate these new storylines

The problem was it seems a little boring.

• Even though "Apartment 7A" had its moments! It was somewhat disappointing to many of those that watched and didn't get the sense of horror.
• The original storyline from "Rosemary's Baby" had all these intense, scary, thrilling scenes in the film.

Garner really managed to bring in some real talent. Fans could have seen more of this but it turned out it didn't get the right tone. There were lots of comments!

There's no doubt that it takes a lot of work to become an expert in a particular area but for Leigh Whannell! His skills are in bringing to life amazing horror movie adaptations that really do hit all the right notes with fans.

• His best project to date might have been when he reimagined "The Invisible Man."
• Whannell takes the stories that audiences adore and gives them a new breath of fresh air!

There is plenty of praise, even excitement as Whannell said his intention is to take on something so great as the werewolf, with a unique direction that takes inspiration from the most famous werewolf movies out there!

There are a few people that think "Wolf Man" will make up for "Apartment 7A." But time will tell! The actor seems to have had a little bit of a rollercoaster as an actor.

For now, fans can wait for "Wolf Man" to arrive in theaters, with that "January 2025" release and, what will be exciting to watch. For sure, "Wolf Man," is already being talked about as one of the best and most highly anticipated films of the year. If "Apartment 7A" made a big splash then this may be one to look forward to as "Wolf Man" will be released during a time when everyone looks to be celebrating "Wolf Man's" latest adaptation.
