Joker is a major, well-loved and sometimes infamous DC Comics character.

While many know this supervillain, and we got to see a lot of his life in "Joker" in 2019. Then, a year later we got "Joker: Folie à Deux" that brought some more excitement with Joaquin Phoenix.

Fans of DC Comics and those who want more of this compelling villain, they're in for a treat or at least it seems like there is a possibility of "Joker 3!" Back in 2019, everyone was sure a sequel was going to be impossible but things changed. The incredible success of the first film and its impressive performance at the box office gave audiences plenty to love and really sparked a need to expand this world! The fact that the original director Todd Phillips decided it was a one and done project only brought more interest!

So where did this desire to continue with "Joker" begin?

In 2019 everyone seemed sure the original film was going to be it.
Then the billion-dollar success really set in and everyone took note.
There were a ton of new thoughts to bring the movie world even further into this compelling storyline.

While this could look to be an exciting development there has been no official statement or green light! There are a lot of unanswered questions from this universe and with a possible expansion of what might occur in this world.

Phillips had a major statement about the series and this DC Black initiative. That might have expanded these ideas further, giving the audience new things to look forward to, even when Warner Bros said he couldn't start another new branch of the universe, not just yet!

The fans continue to dream about the potential, that means that there's another chapter ahead in this dark and gritty story. It's no secret that the movie did get plenty of interest from everyone involved. Everyone really got to experience these characters! We have "Joker" to be so big but there is nothing but great things to say! If anything the movie, especially the recent version, had more to offer and made people wonder if this was just the end of this iconic DC Comics story.

However, Phillips made it super clear: "Joker 3" was not something on his list. While he was down for anything Joaquin Phoenix wanted to do, they still planned it to only be a two movie series.

If anything, it left audiences with an uneasy feeling as the person who killed Arthur Fleck, it seems, had more to do with how they took on the new "Joker" character. The person in the end, is just not an unknown person!

Fans are left with so many new questions that only a new "Joker" film would be able to uncover.

While Phoenix may have ended his run! The world of the Joker isn't finished! The amazing and inspiring Lady Gaga plays the "Harley Quinn" character who takes on the screen for this compelling new version. And fans can still get a glimpse into her, it appears she is willing to continue in her role!

But this won't just happen, though there might be a need for this "Joker" legacy. That can make even more amazing scenes. Even the stars themselves are interested. This was a statement from Gaga who's had many success outside the film world as well!

If DC Studios gave this the greenlight, with a cast, what could really make sense.

Phillips said that they wouldn't really know if a third film was coming until everyone was onboard and there was a perfect vision. He explained this by stating they weren't just going to bring back characters. These stars have the magic and incredible energy to really take everyone to new heights with an even better performance.

The new, powerful storyline in "Joker" looks like there's something bigger going on! The dark legacy continues. This will take everyone to those events and those places in Gotham City, in an action packed storyline.

You never know with this franchise, it's full of big twists, shocking turns, but this seems like something worth paying attention to! Phillips might be hesitant and fans are already creating their own wish lists for that upcoming movie. It could just mean an even bigger surprise if everyone got to see what this incredible "Joker" storyline might be. This amazing movie series already broke expectations. We're always eager for what happens next.
