Jango Fett: Untold Story - Mandalorian Origins & Clone Army Secrets

The world of Star Wars is vast, and even characters that seem simple at first glance like Jango Fett have tons of incredible stories to tell.

Jango Fett's Early Life

Even years after Attack of the Clones (2002) came out, Star Wars continues to expand the lore. Jango Fett was super important because he was the original for the clones of the Galactic Republic, and that meant he was well known throughout the Star Wars universe! That meant that he was an incredible warrior.

While there were tons of stories in Star Wars Legends about Jango Fett that aren't technically a part of this canon any more. The stories haven't stopped, as they were replaced by a bunch of new details. Recently Marc Sumerak's Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers helped make this lore much more specific! The book is full of details! What's especially awesome, is this shows Jango Fett's perspective.

Jango: A Mandalorian Foundling

The beginnings of Jango Fett begin when he was chosen to be in a Mandalorian clan. In fact, you even get this early confirmation in the popular series, The Mandalorian season 2. Fans of Boba Fett will see that Boba gives some crucial info to Din Djarin to see Jango's history! It appears Din Djarin and Jango Fett, were both chosen into Mandalorian families as youngsters.

What's even cooler, too? It looks like Jango's story also includes the awesome Jaster Mereel. Mereel is another Mandalorian who is Jango's adopted father in Star Wars Legends! While not discussed much, the info seems to hold up even in the latest canon. If Jaster Mereel helped Jango Fett grow then he’s important, right? So he might just be a huge part of this latest lore update! And that could make Jango's origins super significant for his entire timeline!

Jango's Mandalorian Armor

The stories never end for the super cool Mandalorians and Jango Fett! You have a very clear view of how these people get their gear in The Mandalorian.

From what's included in Sumerak's book. We see that Jango Fett earned his legendary armor through "The Mandalorian Civil Wars." This matches everything The Mandalorian gave to the series as the armor only goes to the deserving. And that really matters when the armor in question is beskar! What’s fascinating about these warrior tales? That people will actually die if you wear the armor inappropriately!

Getting this special gear might also mean there were some battles, Jango Fett was hit hard with all of this damage in the armor, helping his allies win! It helped add some context for audiences that there might have been a true reverence shown by other Mandalorians who felt his service was enough that they replaced his worn out armor with one made of beskar!

These civil wars helped make Jango Fett a great fighter! But what’s so compelling, are that the tales continue on beyond the latest movie, and really expands on just what he might have done!

In Star Wars Legends Jango Fett battled "Death Watch," one that is super violent group. However, his losses during this battle included losing his whole family! Even in this difficult, devastating moment, what stood out from Jango Fett's history in The Mandalorian Civil Wars is how he managed to still overcome and achieve a true success. There could also be some elements from his struggles and the way he fought that can help to build his lore even further! In Star Wars you have that compelling balance of adding additional elements while never diminishing just how extraordinary and uniquely compelling these events were for his career. What’s especially significant, is that Jango Fett's determination and how he remained determined even with the losses he incurred might have pushed his efforts to gain what he wanted!

In the popular book "Secrets of the Clone Troopers," we can discover how talented Jango Fett was and it wasn't just in the battles he fought as part of the Mandalorian Civil Wars, his skills got honed when he decided to become one of the best Bounty Hunters around. His talents are really reflected through how skilled he is, and Jango Fett was selected to help build an army from the ground up!

His talents don't end at the battles fought! But the interesting fact, is that after he becomes well known he had even more success. What happened next is that he is able to raise his son Boba while making the Clone army. But something seems peculiar to the viewers. That he hired multiple mercenaries which made audiences question if his skillset went downhill at the end!
