James McAvoy on Professor X and 'Wanted': Sequel Plans, MCU Return & More

James McAvoy had everyone excited! They thought he might just show up as Professor X, but it seems it may never be in the cards. Fans will likely be disappointed when they hear his take on making movie sequels and maybe some hints about "Professor X."! A while back, McAvoy talked about one of his most famous roles but the idea of another sequel? He made it clear why it just wasn't possible and that may also be foreshadowing of "Professor X". It’s definitely a longshot for audiences.

Why Did a "Wanted" Sequel Never Come to Fruition?

McAvoy was already making a name for himself long before the iconic role of Professor X. The actor spoke to those who wondered what was behind the failure to continue this film.

While it is true that "Wanted" had an incredibly impressive opening and success at the box office back in 2008, it came at a cost: no sequel movie. The star alongside Angelina Jolie and Terence Stamp! Those were huge moments to be remembered, especially with the film based off the super-popular comic. Even after making millions at the box office it turns out, the scripts weren't good enough, especially compared to the original story.

McAvoy explained to the movie fans how his perspective. That "Wanted made everyone very happy including the studios.
He doesn't want to taint this iconic character with an inferior sequel!

McAvoy is not that much older than he was back in 2011 when X-Men: First Class came out. He might even be the perfect age, according to the long history of "Professor X," and for anyone that hasn't caught all the big hits and flops in this cinematic universe you might wonder: Why are these stars coming back for a role so much later?

The actors have made these amazing, iconic roles, and fans might have wondered why they decided to return. Well, they've made it clear that if the story is incredible enough to excite them. Even McAvoy may not be able to turn down something if it’s going to be a new interpretation that's going to capture a whole new level of excitement.

The key is that they would need a good story! As it looks, it isn't just an arbitrary choice.

The actors really want a great script that makes everything feel unique and something truly special! There is a huge amount of weight that "The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), " has and getting to see some of these original stars who graced our screens!

There is even more speculation from this one quote. In addition to Professor X. They might see if he could also join "Avengers: Secret Wars.". If you haven't had a chance to watch it!
