James Gunn Verifies That Steve Lombard, Clark Kent's Daily Planet Coworker, Is Superman Movie Cast Member.

The Superman movie by James Gunn has attracted yet another actor to play one of the staff members of the Daily Planet in the DC Universe rebirth. Following the initial release in January 2023, DC Studios is releasing several of Gunn's Chapter 1 films and TV shows as her DC Universe is in development. The first movie from DC Studios will be the forthcoming Superman one, therefore laying the groundwork for the DC Universe series.

Since the Superman movie is less than two months away from finishing main filming, Gunn disclosed Beck Bennett will be portraying the DC character Steve Lombard. Here is Gunn's complete post. The first indication of Bennett's casting came when he was seen in a recent Superman cast film; viewers started to guess he might be in the movie. Following his 2013 performance in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, Michael Kelly will be doing Steve in live action, second time.

Steve Lombard is Who?

Created by Cary Bates and Curt Swan, Steve Lombard first made a DC Comics appearance in Superman #264 in June 1973. Steve was a former professional football player in DC canon, having quarterback experience prior to pursuing journalism. Usually covering sports for the Daily Planet, Steve rivals Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

Steve, a supporting character in the comics, will most likely play a contrast to Clark and Lois in Superman. Steve has never been thoroughly investigated in previous Superman media, so Gunn has hinted that this version would probe the Daily Planet, hence the film offers a perfect opportunity. Other Daily Planet characters Cat Grant or Ron Troupe might or not be part of the Superman cast is unknown.

Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn responds to a query concerning whether the DC Universe concept calls for a major justice league villain.

As Gunn's DC Universe is now under production following the end of the DCEU in 2023, a new age of DC films and TV shows is on its way. Fresh renditions of select DC canon heroes and villains will also be featured since various Movies and series are under development.

Commenting on a Gunn Instagram picture, a fan begged, "please wink if you have plans for Deathstroke, I am waiting for my boy to shine for so long." Not long later, Gunn answered with a winking emoji, apparently verifying Slade Wilson will join the new DC Universe.

Among the major comic book franchises is the DC Universe.

Among the most well-known comic book series, the DC Universe regularly competes with Marvel. Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson started National Allied Publications in 1935, and later renamed it DC Comics. The franchise has grown to comprise hundreds more comic books, movies, TV episodes, and computer games since then. The most current iteration of the superheroes started when Zack Snyder debuted Henry Cavill as Superman in 2013. DC has a mild reboot under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran following multiple films with mixed reviews.

Deathstroke is a part that will probably be replaced with some incredible choices; the DC Universe will have some fresh actors in iconic roles.
