Is a New "Fantastic Beasts" Movie Coming?
It might seem like we just had another Fantastic Beasts movie - and we did - but things got pretty messed up. The Fantastic Beasts series is supposed to have five movies. And the whole thing was meant to expand the Harry Potter universe, so yeah, fans were excited! We were supposed to get to know more about all those magical creatures and see all those incredible things in the wizarding world! But, there's no new movie!
Did They Cancel "Fantastic Beasts 4"?
It's not entirely cancelled but no one has really said much about Fantastic Beasts 4 after all the fuss with those last films!
Wait, Why Did Things Get Tricky?
- There was some backlash. Lots of people didn't love the last movies, they felt "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", "Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald", and especially "Fantastic Beasts and the Secrets of Dumbledore" didn’t quite live up to the hype! So some fans are hesitant about Fantastic Beasts 4 since those films kind of went off the rails.
- It really didn’t do super great - the box office was underwhelming! We are all used to huge numbers with Harry Potter films.
Will There Ever be a "Fantastic Beasts 4"?
For now? It’s really just up in the air - like we are waiting for that Hogwarts letter to come! They really haven't been too vocal. Maybe they are getting a fresh start? That's kind of what happened with "Fantastic Beasts" when it went through lots of cast and director changes - and it even impacted the whole plot and "Fantastic Beasts" production - making those films super messy and causing more controversy!
Warner Bros. needs to figure things out, and maybe with a bit more time - like the "Harry Potter" saga - they can pull things together! Even J.K. Rowling was a part of this - since the "Fantastic Beasts" movie series is based on her work, and, well, that’s always been something that got fans chatting. It’s still pretty amazing! Even if we don't know when or even if a new Fantastic Beasts movie is coming - we have plenty of magic to enjoy!
