Is Deadpool & Wolverine the Right Test For The MCU?
Deadpool & Wolverine is killing it at the box office. Is it a sign of how much we're into the MCU right now? Well, maybe! But let's dig into the details, shall we?
Deadpool 3 Has Got Those Fans Back!
- This is huge! It's definitely proving that people will flock to theaters to see those big, popular characters - Deadpool, Wolverine - we’ve loved for years. It makes sense - Deadpool movies, starring Ryan Reynolds as the awesome "Merc With a Mouth" - were already hit movies - and the box office has confirmed that we still love that wild style!
- The cool part is that we also get to see those amazing Deadpool and Wolverine together. The box office shows it was a match made in heaven! Fans wanted this for a long time! This duo is totally gonna add to the MCU and, most importantly, that huge Marvel universe!
A Tough Test Ahead For The MCU!
While things are super good with Deadpool & Wolverine - the box office shows it - the real test of what the MCU can do is about to start. It's almost time for a new era and some pretty crucial changes!
How's The MCU Timeline Doing Right Now?
- The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a ton of movies coming out soon. Deadpool 3, actually - was the perfect shot in the arm - but Marvel Studios still has to make those big decisions on where to go next, especially for all those "Multiverse Saga" stories that they are weaving together.
- The new Captain America film - Captain America: Brave New World - will come first. People are a little more iffy about this, especially because we don't have that awesome Chris Evans guy back. Plus, the story has a smaller cast, so those big, epic MCU films might take a little bit of a hit!
- If those other movies don't get those big box office numbers - well, Marvel Studios might need some super creative planning before we get the full "Avengers: Doomsday" movie!
- This will definitely be a good way to figure out how those changes with that whole "Multiverse Saga" are going to go over with those fans.
It's kinda weird because the MCU is so huge - those characters, like those in Deadpool, already have massive audience investment, especially those classic movies from the Fox era, and we are used to all those Marvel studios successes over the years! Deadpool and Wolverine - it's hard to mess up!
The cool thing is that Marvel's got some other major projects coming down the line: Fantastic Four, the Fantastic Four: First Steps! If they can build on those earlier successes, the MCU timeline will definitely keep us excited about the future - and I think we'll get that huge return! We need a bigger dose of that magic that makes those big-screen, R-Rated movies feel epic, right? That would give the Marvel Brand another awesome shot! And we can expect tons of cool stuff like some wild Easter eggs - those awesome clues hidden throughout the movie - that give the fans more to explore!
