The Future is Unclear...Or Is It? Exploring the Possibilities in "Deadpool & Wolverine"
There was so much hype around the release of "Deadpool & Wolverine" because it seemed to finally unite two totally different branches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Everyone wondered if this movie was going to play a role in Phase 6, you know, where those crazy multiverse events take over the movie world. Honestly, "Deadpool & Wolverine" was pretty great for fans who loved the X-Men Movies, but there were some who felt the movie missed a beat with some of its big moments, maybe going more for a “happy ending for X-Men fans" than anything else.
This is where that crazy Marvel fan theory kicks in. Could it be that “Deadpool & Wolverine" was setting us up for those upcoming, big-budget multiverse movie plans that are brewing in the Marvel Universe? This movie made us start thinking about “Anchor Beings" - these folks who are vital to each of the Marvel timelines. Think of them like glue holding everything together.
"Anchor Beings" - Are They Like Molecule Men?
The way "Deadpool & Wolverine" played it out, it seems that these Anchor Beings have their lives and everything depends on them sticking around. That means a major character needs to be around or things will just start breaking down... eventually. It was pretty awesome to see this concept take center stage, making everyone rethink what that means for those big superhero battles that are still coming.
If we compare this theory to "Secret Wars" in Marvel comics, it’s really fascinating. This crazy event that changed the world of comics was about these powerful bad guys known as Beyonders, who were planning to just obliterate the multiverse, so a character called Molecule Man went to all the universes and began destroying all of these other "Molecule Men". If one died in this event, there’d be a cosmic clash - a serious “universe-shaking” thing! In that whole "Secret Wars" comics mess, Molecule Men, the Anchor Beings, Doctor Doom - the Beyonders, the world pretty much fell apart until everything went back to normal in a way, but it took some real epic struggles and fighting to pull it off. It's not entirely clear yet, but this crazy fan theory puts things into a new perspective, like "what if "Deadpool & Wolverine" was already prepping us for a "Secret Wars" style fight that'll reshape the whole MCU?
Doctor Doom vs. The Beyonders, and a Doomsday for Everyone?
This wild fan theory is pretty simple. Maybe, just maybe, "Deadpool & Wolverine" set the stage for some crazy shenanigans. Imagine it: the future of the MCU is hanging in the balance. This Doctor Doom fellow (if you haven't been paying attention, this villain’s a total wild card in the comics) goes rogue and finds out the truth - these Anchor Beings are like ticking time bombs, they are all connected, and they need to be taken out before everything starts to crumble. He starts traveling around the multiverse - like a supervillain cosmic hero! You know he wants to save everyone. And maybe... he might have to obliterate those "Anchor Beings".
Think about it! This idea that Doctor Doom might do some heroic acts is way more fascinating than your average, power-hungry baddie whose motivations aren't clear! This time, Doctor Doom isn’t a self-serving megalomaniac, but rather, someone with the ability to look ahead and realize that the only way to save the entire multiverse is to obliterate these crucial beings. If Doctor Doom wants to save the world in “Avengers 5" or “Avengers 6”, it looks like everyone else needs to stop him from wiping those Anchor Beings off the face of existence, and the whole idea of how it affects reality!
The Return of “Secret Wars” – A Doomsday Battle
In a "Secret Wars" battle, Doctor Doom creates this cosmic mish-mash called Battleworld – basically a big, strange mix of universes - and the idea of “secretly taking down Anchor Beings" that were a big deal in “Deadpool & Wolverine" and combining that with the story from "Secret Wars” is mind-blowing!
Now picture this: in this world, it might be time to welcome all the Avengers back into the action (who knows if this will include Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man or maybe Andrew Garfield!), the original Fox X-Men, or whoever's out there (Fantastic Four maybe?). Everyone would be gathered to stand against Doom, maybe even to try to figure out what to do with all those timelines that have basically crumbled thanks to the Anchor Beings, and of course, it all begins because of what happened in "Deadpool & Wolverine". So if Doctor Doom's plans turn out to be completely wild and chaotic, those multiverse fights would become so insane - even those Deadpool and Wolverine guys would show up. We could be witnessing some huge crossover events.
What's Coming to the MCU in the Future?
Is it wild? Yes. Is it a possible explanation for how “Deadpool & Wolverine” might have secretly been hinting at things to come? It might be a wild theory, but with Marvel, we know that nothing is really off the table, especially considering how “Multiverse of Madness" set things up with Dr. Strange's world-shattering shenanigans, the “What If?" series, and those multiversal variants! All these crazy theories add a new layer of excitement for Phase 6! And it seems that there’s some possibility those Movies are playing out. You could even argue this is building upon what happened in "Loki" (it definitely set up some more intense adventures and those multiverse battles we were waiting for! If Doctor Doom goes wild, the Avengers will definitely have to team up to try to fix things (that's if it's still possible)! And maybe, just maybe, we might see those "Deadpool and Wolverine" characters return too. That's some amazing multiverse craziness to keep you watching.
