The Fate Of The Furious Disrespected Han With Redemption From Shaw
The third act of The Fate of the Furious had the Shaw brothers showing up at last minute to save Dominic Toretto's son. One of the most funny sequences in the Fast and Furious series and among the eight films is Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw executing Cipher's soldiers as he was tending to a newborn. Though the redemption of Statham's character happened far too quickly, even if seeing Shaw rescue Dom's baby was fun. Shaw was Hanging about with Toretto's family and helping with their barbecue by the end of the film.
F9 tells us Han was employed by Mr. Nobody throughout Tokyo Drift. The last sequence of The Fate of the Furious made everyone, including Dom, seem to have forgotten that Deckard Shaw killed Han – or at least thought he killed Han. The retcon that finally surfaced in F9—that Han pretended his death in Fast and Furious—means Shaw was still Han's killer throughout The Fate of the Furious. Seeing Shaw join the family following what he did in Furious 7 was a dishonor to Han's reputation and spurred the "Justice for Han" movement ready for response in F9.
Fast and Furious Disrespected Han; But Fast 11 Is About To Do Even Worse
Fast & Furious denigrated Han before bringing him back, and now Fast & Furious 11 is poised to do considerably more damage. Retconned the death with Mr. Nobody and a hologram, Han returned from the dead in F9. Fast X carried on the custom of resurrecting characters from Fast and Furious, bringing back Gisele. Fast X's ending set up a team-up between Gisele, Letty, and Cipher, the last of which having to cooperate with Toretto's crew after Dante Reyes arrived.
From villains like Cipher to heroes like Hobbs, Fast X's cast was somewhat sizable and including several returning characters. The film even had a quick scene between Shaw and Han that finished the "Justice for Han" fix starting in F9. Fast and Furious finally corrected matters surrounding Han, but it committed a big error with the character in The Fate of the Furious – one that might resurfaced in the next Fast & Furious 11.
Regarding Fast & Furious 11, what will happen to Cipher?
By the end of Fast X, Cipher, Letty, and Gisese are in Antarctica implying they will collaborate on Fast & Furious 11. Too late for Cipher to be a villain once Dante Reyes teams up with his brother to complete their retribution against Toretto. She will most likely be on the heroes' side in Fast 11 even if there is still terrible blood between her and the family. This seems reasonable given the situation, but it might suggest Cipher will be redeemed like Shaw and Jakob were.
Many events must take place to wrap things up for Dominic Toretto and his team before the Fast & Furious series finds its spectacular climax. Fast and Furious disregarding Cipher's crime would be quite demeaning to Elena's character, just as Shaw's comeback in The Fate of the Furious insulted Han. Given Elena's sister Isabel's introduction in Fast X, Cipher's possible atonement would be considerably more detrimental. Cipher should not be redeemed till Elena is alive, which is improbable for Fast and Furious. In Fast & Furious 11, Cipher could have a heroic sendoff and sacrifice herself; yet, she should not join the family as Deckard Shaw did in The Fate of the Furious.
Fast X Set Up Cipher's Redemption In Fast & Furious 11 (Despite Elena's Death)
The Han disdain of Fast and Furious could resurfaced, this time involving Elena. Cipher had Elena slain right in front of Dominic Toretto in The Fate of the Furious. In one of the worst sequences in the series, Dom had to watch helpless as the mother of his child was shot in front of him. Cipher loved doing so even though she was not the one to draw the trigger; she was to fault for Elena's death. Cipher wasn't rehabilitated in her next appearance unlike Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs or Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, although she could be in Fast 11.
Fast and Furious disregarding Cipher's crime would be quite disrespectful to Elena's character, just as Shaw's comeback in The Fate of the Furious offended Han. Fast X set Cipher as one of Dante Reyes' targets, therefore teasing her salvation. Introducing an even more dangerous bad character is maybe the easiest approach of redeeming a former villain; this is exactly what Fast X's opening sequence accomplished. Though Dom and Letty might not have trusted Cipher, they finally turned their attention against Dante. Later abducted, Cipher and Letty had to stage a fight to flee. After Cipher and Letty flee Fast X ends with Gisele returning.
