Did Deadpool Predict Doctor Doom's Arrival In The MCU?
With Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, it's like Deadpool's hilarious jabs at the MCU came true! There's a crazy theory that it could be a "darker" Iron Man variant.
So Is Doctor Doom Really Tony Stark?
It’s not confirmed - the truth is nobody really knows yet! It's a pretty out-there theory!
The only hint we've got is that Downey’s role as Doctor Doom is so secret - and we don't know his actual place in this big Multiverse Saga.
Did "Deadpool & Wolverine" Predict this?
- You have to wonder - those Deadpool jokes are hilariously good - even for this "Marvel Multiverse" and this was even before the news about Doctor Doom broke. There's a hilarious scene in "Deadpool & Wolverine" where he's about to go into the MCU. He actually says, "If I'm honest, my main concern is all of you guys have gone multiverse mad. Indiscriminate use of variants!"
What Does Deadpool Actually Mean?
- Remember, the MCU - Earth-616, - has always been about that "interconnected" feeling. Then, the Multiverse came out with the movies, and it seemed like there were too many alternate versions of the same characters, like a lot of those "Avengers Endgame" moments from the original movies. That's probably what Deadpool was laughing about!
The Multiverse Could be a Big Deal.
- Those variants are a major plot element - especially those amazing shows like "Loki" - and there is also the big "What If...?" series. It's been happening for years. And when those alternate Iron Man variants were floating around, well, you can’t really argue with Deadpool!
- The thing is, people aren't totally on board with how Marvel's handling those variants, even with "Spider-Man: No Way Home". This whole theory is super interesting because if this is how it really is, and Downey becomes this evil Iron Man Variant in a totally different reality (Earth-1005), then we will have more fun, too, as Marvel will keep on adding to that huge multiverse.
You know what to do now - it's time to get excited for Avengers: Doomsday! Who's excited about how those two different Multiverses might actually collide!
