It's a pretty bloody movie! A lot of people die in Deadpool & Wolverine, so many that it would take a whole article to list them all. But here are some of the most notable casualties: Cable - Cable is one of the main heroes in Deadpool & Wolverine. He is killed by a massive explosion that takes out the entire town. Domino - Domino, who has been Deadpool's partner in crime, is killed off by the film's main villain, who is looking for a piece of technology that Domino is carrying. The Juggernaut - The Juggernaut, who has been a thorn in the side of the X-Men for years, is killed by Deadpool in a hilarious and brutal showdown. X-23 - X-23, a clone of Wolverine, is killed by the film's main villain. She was a new addition to the X-Men universe but she was well-loved. The Merc with a Mouth - Yes, Deadpool himself dies at the end of the film. He sacrifices himself to save the world. But, there's a twist. Deadpool comes back to life thanks to his time traveling shenanigans. So, while we saw him die, he was always going to come back. You can't keep a good Merc down!
Wolverine is the film's main protagonist, so you can be sure he's going to make it out of this one alive. He gets into some pretty intense battles, but he manages to come out on top. The film marks a major change for Wolverine, as he finally accepts his mortality, and he realizes that he doesn't need to be a violent hero. That being said, he still gets into a few scraps!
Deadpool & Wolverine is a standalone film, but it's also a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film takes place in the same universe as the other Marvel movies but it is a separate timeline. It is also worth noting that the film does not connect to the Disney+ series such as "WandaVision" or "Loki" because those series take place in a different timeline.
It's unclear if there will be a sequel to Deadpool & Wolverine, but the director has said that it's something he'd be interested in exploring. The film's ending does leave things open for a potential sequel, but the box office is the biggest factor determining if the film will see another movie.
Deadpool & Wolverine is rated R for strong violence, pervasive language, and some sexual content. The film doesn't shy away from showing the gory side of superhero battles, and it's not afraid to use profanity. In addition, Deadpool's fourth-wall breaking humor often references adult themes.
Deadpool & Wolverine is full of references to past Marvel movies, both from the Fox X-Men universe and the MCU. This is done in part to show that Deadpool & Wolverine are in the same universe as those films, but it also serves as a way for the film to pay homage to its predecessors. For example, at one point in the film Deadpool has a conversation with Spider-man in which he refers to the "Spider-man: Into The Spider-verse" animated film.
