Forget the 2011 movie; James Gunn and the crew are giving the Green Lanterns a fresh start with multiple characters showing up in upcoming projects. This is huge news, since Green Lantern hasn't had a ton of love in live-action before!

Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan

Kyle Chandler (yes, Coach Taylor himself!) is officially playing Hal Jordan in the Lanterns HBO series. This seasoned actor will be perfect in giving Hal Jordan a mentorship role with John Stewart, giving audiences what they have wanted in Hal Jordan for decades!

Hal Jordan is a legend, possibly the most popular human Green Lantern ever. He's got the will, but can also be a bit reckless; so there is likely to be exciting scenes to show just what makes him such an awesome hero!

Aaron Pierre as John Stewart

Get ready for Aaron Pierre as John Stewart in Lanterns, he is playing alongside Kyle Chandler! This isn’t his first time in a DC project. He was Dev-Em in Krypton and we're looking forward to him as John Stewart.

John Stewart, a former Marine turned architect, is all about discipline; that contrasts super well with Hal Jordan’s personality, meaning you’re going to get an interesting show full of unexpected dynamics. John Stewart could possibly be the new main Green Lantern for the DCU since Hal Jordan (played by Chandler, who's 59), might have a tragic ending in Lanterns (a death similar to what he had in the comics.) Since Lanterns has been highlighted as key to the DCU, something epic will go down.

Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner

Nathan Fillion is the FIRST Green Lantern to officially join the DCU. This beloved actor is going to bring the infamous Guy Gardner to life in James Gunn’s Superman, set to launch in July 2025. He might even join Lanterns.

Fillion was a popular choice for a Hal Jordan before but now the series is featuring him! This was one that really gave a shot in the arm as far as getting excitement for this amazing character! Guy Gardner was a big personality, even more reckless than Hal Jordan and super famous for being in Justice League International! Hopefully this will lead to something fun, such as Guy Gardner’s bowl cut, that fans hope he's going to keep!

The Future of Green Lanterns

The Green Lantern universe is enormous; a universe the DCU will definitely show! The upcoming Lanterns HBO series will offer viewers a unique perspective with plenty of opportunities! It will let DC show a wide view of just how vast and interesting the world really is!

HBO's Lanterns gives DC the chance to really re-introduce these amazing characters. We're betting there will be more of Green Lanterns and a wider view, such as more projects. The success that Lanterns generates could lead to amazing projects!
