Which Villain is More Difficult to Kill Darkseid vs Thanos?
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC Comics' most recent movie, closed a whole universe. This event revealed that the legendary villain Darkseid, DC, is far more difficult to kill than Thanos, his Marvel equivalent.
Darkseid: a Nexus Being endowed with incomprehensible force
Darkseid is shown in the third Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths as among the most powerful dangers in the multiverse. This film reinterpreted the mid-1980s celebrated Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book plot, which marked the end of DC's Silver and Bronze Age (Earth-One) and its original Golden Age timeline (Earth-Two). DC's Modern Age chronology (New Earth) came about from this event. Darkseid's objective is to wipe half of the population of the universe using the Infinity Stones, thus his role is exactly like that of Thanos, Marvel's most infamous enemy.
Thanos: An Exquisitely Dangerous Threat in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
Though Thanos is immensely strong, able to trade blows with Thor and Hulk, he is also a clever strategist who changes his approach in battle. Still, Thanos is not unbeatable. The villain was susceptible to Wanda Maximoff's powers and Captain America's Mjolnir. Even Thanos found difficult even Captain Marvel's might. With Stormbreaker, Thor ultimately killed the first Thanos incarnation; Iron Man finished him off in Avengers: Endgame using the Infinity Stones.
Darkseid: Necessary Evil of The Multiverse
Still, killing Darkseid is a far more complicated affair. Crisis On Infinite Earths exposed that the death of Darkseid destroyed the multiverse in the Tomorrowverse chronology. Darkseid is a nexus being, thus his existence is necessary for all realities to run as they should. The multiverse falls apart without him, thus Darkseid almost cannot be killed without obliterating every reality.
Darkseid: The Villain Not Deadable
In many comic book narratives, Darkseid has met his end most famously in Justice League: Darkseid War. He always comes back, though, proving how difficult it is to really eradicate him.
Future Darkseid in the DC Universe
Every DC reality depends on Darkseid's existence, thus his presence—at least—will be felt in the forthcoming DC Universe multimedia franchise. Rising mostly in Zack Snyder's Justice League, Darkseid had a memorable part in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Although the DC Universe might take time to present its rendition of Darkseid, it is reasonable to believe he already resides in this new continuity.
The Value of Darkseid within the DCU Timeline
Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths proved Darkseid is a required ingredient of every DC universe. The movie also underlined how well Darkseid's chronology might be used to produce a more vast and detailed world. The DC Universe will thus soon present its rendition of this legendary enemy. It is only a matter of time.
