Cloverfield 2: Will It Be a Hit or Another Strange Twist?

There are many sci-fi movies that tackle huge creatures rampaging in cities, but Cloverfield stood out and was beloved for its interesting approach to the Found Footage genre! It became such a phenomenon for Paramount. What started as a massive box office hit back in January 2008. Is now becoming a larger story that might be taking some unusual, even perplexing turns!

A Cloverfield Sequel After A Decade And A Half

It is happening! After over a decade, it looks like the franchise is growing, as there's going to be a Cloverfield 2!

J.J. Abrams confirmed the production back in 2018. And the series gained some excitement two years later. When it was announced that a writer for the project was going to be Joe Barton and, as an update. A director was even chosen in September 2022 as Babak Anvari, was brought onto the production team. What's pretty exciting is, this means "Cloverfield is getting a more concrete story!

A Series Of Cloverfield Movies:

It really feels like the series is one that will keep expanding in ways no one might expect, with its unusual structure as an ongoing Franchise.

What started as a monster attack. The very first movie was called "Cloverfield," where New York City was under threat. The franchise continued to expand the storyline to the "Cloverfield" timeline as a prequel called "10 Cloverfield Lane." which came out in 2016. It focused more on a smaller scope with some people taking refuge.

Cloverfield 2 Vs 10 Cloverfield Lane

The initial sequel really is intriguing. It was well-liked by many, but also a tad confusing. The series tried to find its next steps as the story takes us into a super intense look at the monster, or, is it another "monster?" This gives fans a really compelling plot point, especially as it seems, what's behind "10 Cloverfield Lane" was going on was connected to the "Cloverfield" Universe! Even though the plot has the appearance of being independent!

What's more confusing for these fans is that you had to know something! A certain understanding was needed to really appreciate what the filmmakers were trying to accomplish! The plot of "10 Cloverfield Lane" really expanded on these amazing, and strange monster origins. You even get a look into the future, what might happen, as well as an entirely new and unique alien. That left a great deal of intrigue about just how interconnected the universe is and even more so when "Cloverfield Paradox came out in 2018.!
If you watch the series chronologically the original monster seems to be coming from the ocean!
That was a detail that got confirmed back in 2008.

The new Movie may reveal this as well.

The problem with "The Cloverfield Paradox" is that the plot added a real confusing element as the series began taking on interdimensional travel and what caused the alien monster was not from a conventional location but actually arrived from a particle accelerator which then tore a hole in "reality"

Fans might also wonder, what happened next and is there any possibility that they would connect these stories, but in a limited, special way, allowing this to become something more streamlined, especially since the movies had big success. It looks like, with a great director who's ready to give "Cloverfield" fans something incredible, you can't wait!
