Chris Hemsworth a well-known actor mostly famous for playing Thor has had an interesting career and is now getting additional recognition in previous projects as his career moves forward. This year his past movie with Tom Holland is currently number 1 on Netflix which highlights his range as an actor.
Before he gained recognition in Hollywood, Hemsworth had different TV appearances in Australia during the 2000's. He made his way into Hollywood with "Star Trek" in 2009. This story is about a whaling ship that sunk from a battle with a large whale with the movie following what may have actually happened on the Essex during a hunting expedition. The story also looks at those who wrote the first hand accounts of those very events and also what they chose not to include which was a historical point of contention.
The 2015 film initially struggled at the box office and received mixed reviews however has been said to showcase elements of storytelling that may resonate with many viewers in the modern landscape. While creating a physical element to portraying Owen Chase, Hemsworth’s performance shows range with dramatic and intense scenes.
To fully express the physical toll of the shipwreck Hemsworth underwent extreme weight loss. He has shared that it was actually more challenging than gaining weight as Thor was stating that he had very low energy and that lead to unpredictable moods from a diet with low calories and limited nutrition.
While best known for Thor in the MCU, his commitment to various roles shows a wide range of capabilities. From his parts in Extraction films or his work with great directors shows his interest in growing outside of the MCU box office hits.
