Now the odd thing about all this? Weyland-Yutani has absolutely no control over Yvaga III! It's mysterious! It's never revealed how Yvaga III escaped this otherwise-omnipresent evil corporation's control – setting up one of this plot's key mysterious moments! Yet that’s also its importance; because escaping that entity, that ubiquitous controlling element shown in multiple storylines makes it desirable! That absence makes Yvaga III incredibly appealing – both for our heroes Rain and Andy, who decide this is the exact escape needed after the tragic loss and immense difficulties and troubles they have endured. This creates another key plot element driving their later actions and motivations; this escape might be achievable yet at immense cost; with potentially unpredictable or undesired outcomes waiting there.

Rain and Andy's Escape: A Journey to a New Beginning (or a New Nightmare)?

Reaching Yvaga III has always been Rain’s and Andy's ultimate goal. At the very start, Rain was ready for a transfer; yet unexpected setbacks changed the overall direction of those plot plans. They would steal cryopods from that highly secured Romulus space station, resulting in those truly crazy, memorable moments and many deaths.

The ending shows both survivors escape with their lives and take one last escape and rescue from certain demise in Alien: Romulus’s final scenes, boarding a ship with that infamous, utterly evil, dangerous black goo (the stuff that destroyed the whole planet in Alien: Covenant!). They're set to arrive nearly a decade later after going into cryosleep, potentially creating a sequel's main opening scene and making for this long time lapse, creating additional expectations. Those who survived may actually face different outcomes entirely!
