The pairing and chemistry with Emma Stone is the icing on this cake, as these interactions alone really justify this title!

3. The Florida Project (2017): The Kind-Hearted Motel Manager

This dramatic movie on children’s lives near Disney shows Dafoe’s remarkable range! His performance as Bobby is both wonderfully heartwarming and intensely subtle! The amazing subtlety displayed showcases that he can show these really subtle gestures perfectly, demonstrating this warm and intensely compassionate heart amid all the underlying harshness and cynicism involved in the struggles shown, this really anchors that intensely heartbreaking storyline. It completely justifies why it won an Oscar nomination. He deserves much better.
