We Would Be Better Off Without Another Annabelle Film in the Conjuring Universe
There is no need for another Annabelle film in the Conjuring universe, even with the spin-off series' $793 million triumph. The show mainly follows Ed and Lorraine Warren, two demonologists, as they investigate demonic possession situations. The franchise stands out above other paranormal horror films as some of the scariest Movies of all time because its stories are based on real-life incidents that the real-life demonologists were a part of. Granted, not all of the stories in the timeline of The Conjuring are based on actual occurrences. Those that succeed yet manage to incorporate some terrifying elements, such as dolls that are possessed.
Annabelle: A Fearsome Encounter, Yet Her Tale Is Ending
The Annabelle doll, who first appears in The Conjuring's opening scene, quickly rises to prominence as one of the franchise's most important characters. Annabelle, her own spinoff, features a trilogy of films that explain the full narrative of the deadly doll. The plots of the Annabelle Movies incorporate certain real-life incidents and are based on a true story. The Conjuring world is such a horror powerhouse in large part because of these movies. But now is the right moment for the Annabelle movies to come to a fitting end.
Annabelle Returns Home: The Ideal Conclusion
The doll is permanently locked away at the conclusion of the third episode of the subseries, Annabelle Comes Home, and the audience is shown what happens if they even attempt to free her. There's just too much evil force in her. The Annabelle doll, which is one of the most terrifying artifacts in Warren's occult museum—both in the movies and in real life—is the subject of this video, which focuses on her ability to influence the other evil entities there. Her journey can now come to an end since by the end of the movie, she is permanently incarcerated.
The plot also completes the circle with regard to the primary Conjuring films in Annabelle Comes Home. The Conjuring features the two nurses who receive the demonic doll, while Annabelle Comes Home depicts the car problems the Warrens had while transporting the doll. There's a lovely symmetry to the Annabelle story that makes it worth pursuing, even with the allure of cash benefits.
There Will Be No More Annabelle Storylines for the Conjuring Universe
The doll's story is so neatly wrapped up in Annabelle Comes Home that a sequel is not necessary. Without a compelling story, a new Annabelle movie would not succeed even if it were to be made. There is no moment in the universe's timeline that makes sense for another movie, and everything that happened to the real Annabelle doll has already been used for the franchise. The entire chronology will be upset, and the series will be ruined, if a subsequent Annabelle movie is set before any of the present ones. That means there won't be another prequel.
Even if an additional Annabelle movie were to be released after the other ones, the plot would still fall flat. The only thing left to do is hope Annabelle manages to get out of her glass case once more. But this storyline will result in another confrontation between Annabelle and the other museum demons and whoever allows this to happen. In the end, it will be a reprise of Annabelle Comes Home. The third movie differs in that it was inspired by actual occurrences from the outset. This kind of plot is unsuitable for another Annabelle movie, as evidenced by the fact that another one with no basis in reality will make the movie fail miserably.
The Warrens and Valak Must Be the Franchise's Main Priorities
Beyond Annabelle, there are a lot of significant unfinished stories in The Conjuring Universe. The Warrens are a good illustration. Since The Conjuring 4 will be their last film, careful consideration must be given to how their plot ends. They have steered the series to its current position and are so essential to the franchise that they frequently appear in its other subseries. Without concentrating on another Annabelle movie, their farewell picture might honor their personalities to a sufficient degree.
Even though this character is far more malevolent, The Nun films' Valak plot must also be resolved. The nun has appeared in numerous movies, making it one of the most well-known demons in The Conjuring universe. Even though The Nun series is done with The Conjuring 4, there may yet be room for more episodes after that. Even after being vanquished, Valak always finds a way to come back, so until The Conjuring films, there ought to be a means to keep the demon out of the universe. Rather than making another Annabelle movie, a third movie might highlight these incidents and help tie up more loose ends in The Conjuring universe.
