The iconic actor who first portrayed the vampire hunter Blade in the 1990s, Wesley Snipes, has reacted to a growing campaign among fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to scrap Mahershala Ali's planned "Blade" reboot.
Soon after making a brief appearance in the most recent movie "Deadpool & Wolverine," Snipes shared a screenshot of an article on Instagram with the caption "Cancel Mahershala Ali's Blade Movie And Bring Wesley Snipes' Daywalker Into The MCU." With a laugh, the 62-year-old actor said, "Y'all, crazy! hahaha."
This amusing reply coincides with the 'Blade' reboot's numerous difficulties, which include Yann Demange's departure as director. November 7, 2025, is still the projected release date for the movie, despite these obstacles.
After a more than 20-year break, the legendary vampire hunter makes a big screen comeback in Marvel Studios' "Blade." Vampires make their MCU debut in this reboot, which stars Mahershala Ali as Eric Brooks, after a small tease in the "Eternals" post-credits sequence. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre are among the film's impressive cast members.
The next slate of films in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe includes a number of fascinating projects, of which the "Blade" revival is just one piece. Future releases consist of:
'Captain America: Brave New World' on February 14, 2025
'Thunderbolts' on May 2, 2025
'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' on July 25, 2025
'Blade' on November 7, 2025
'Avengers: Doomsday' on May 1, 2026
'Avengers: Secret Wars' on May 7, 2027
Even while the fate of the "Blade" reboot is still up in the air, one thing is certain: the MCU will continue to rule the superhero movie genre.
