Who Is Harvey Dent, Two-Face In Comics?

Harvey Dent. Was originally a hero!

He took a long and dangerous path as he fought the villains in Gotham City. It started with a job as District Attorney, which makes him an important, critical player in helping protect the innocent in Gotham City.

This journey had a very tragic turn as the hero was involved in an incident that had a major impact on his life! While Salvatore Maroni, one of the supervillains, who seemed as if he were bound and determined to defeat the hero, took an attempt! He was very specific as to what to do and the way that this man sought to do so. "Harvey Dent". was disfigured by acid. His character takes an intense, dark turn and from there becomes Two-Face!

A hero with his duality in every thought! And actions are based on his lucky coin and leaves audiences wondering about what's about to happen next! For Batman, he faces this hero as one of the most memorable villains and one who continues to test Batman's moral compass, forcing him to question the world and the choices that he has made over time.

What makes this iconic villain memorable? A whole host of factors!

  • A face with half disfigurement.
  • The coin with its unique design
  • The villain who has taken over.

This makes Two-Face stand out, with a personality that looks for balance as the character's story really is about what's a truly good "moral code" to have. This is something that all the movies and television shows have strived to bring to the screen!

That's why this special list of all the times Harvey Dent has made his appearance, and shows the amazing breadth of creators, who helped to shape him.

13. Andy Daly In Harley Quinn:

An image of Bane and Kite Man in Harley Quinn Image

If you are into more recent, and "adult animation" there's no series more recognized than "Harley Quinn.".

Two-Face had an appearance in this great series that made such a lasting impression! "Harley Quinn" does a fantastic job, especially as Two-Face had a bigger role.

What stands out for this iteration of "Two-Face" was a focus on more outrageous and entertaining events, as the series itself takes on "villains." It may be super wild in some scenes!

  • This character is almost super crazy! The version in "Harley Quinn." takes "Two-Face" a little too literally.
  • It made the character an unforgettable part of the storyline, which might have been funny, but not as good a portrayal as some.
  • He wasn't all that great a villain in this iteration.

12. Yuri Lowenthal In Gotham By Gaslight:

Harry Lawtey as Harvey Dent speaking at a conference Image

You are not looking at your typical "Batman" show or movie when you see "Gotham by Gaslight." What makes it so different? You've got a series that's a super intriguing "what if", giving a darker take on "Batman" and takes a trip to a Victorian time period.

There's a famous story from "Batman: Gotham By Gaslight." that brings the crimes of Jack The Ripper and the amazing tale of this period into a fun and creative, well, horrific storyline, filled with intense moments and characters who might leave viewers captivated.

Lowenthal's character doesn't fully transform and looks like a villain but not an amazing character to watch. His portrayal in the show is good but really lacks those defining characteristics, though you still have Lowenthal's powerful voice to capture the attention of fans. The voice alone might not make it as a great addition as to what makes this show lackluster. There is nothing unique about the story and as it doesn't match the true depth that's been known as Two-Face over many, many years.

Lowenthal, might be better known as "Sasuke" from "Naruto but in this iteration of "Two-Face," it's a major let down!

11. Harry Lawtey In Joker: Folie Á Deux:

Here we are with the next generation of Joker Movies, a special spin-off!

Joker made such a splash that even fans were uncertain what the next installment would be.

  • Joker: Folie à Deux is filled with interesting surprises. The first installment of "Joker was in 2019 and the director Todd Phillips, has added some creative flare!
  • Lawtey plays a young, eager, and somewhat overambitious Assistant District Attorney.
  • What he hopes to do is help bring justice. There is one problem for Lawtey's version, it's that Arthur Fleck gets set up in a truly bad way and eventually gets captured and tried in court!
  • The character ends up in a crazy, horrible spot.
  • Lawtey's version of Two-Face gets a horrible accident and you might expect an epic journey, however, it is never shown! You see Lawtey's side get scarred. It seems he disappears before audiences can fully experience his transition to the villain side, as he makes it off screen in the film.

It's very intriguing, but this doesn't mean it was perfect!

Even with a little hint, his "Two-Face transformation really was quite bland and not super memorable!

You can watch "Lawtey" as a talented star but this time, in "Joker: Folie à Deux" there was something really lacking as a major missed opportunity for viewers to fully enjoy it! It seems like we missed an entire character arc. What might stand out to those that see "Lawtey" in the show! Lawtey's performance is memorable, especially as this hero becomes more than a little slimy, trying to rise through the ranks.

If you have ever loved "Gotham", as many fans have. We really are drawn into those origin stories about those who have shaped this universe!

D'Agosto had "Harvey Dent as a major character who stood up to all of Gotham's crime! His appearances in the first season of the "Gotham", show the complexities of being a prosecutor in Gotham!

  • D'Agosto's "Harvey Dent", makes his journey to show that he can do the right thing and tries to improve "Gotham" and give it a second chance!

In fact, his storyline seems pretty powerful and as he struggles against so many things! A common theme for the character of Harvey Dent!

Sadly! What fans will miss in "D'Agosto" portrayal is the whole transition.

  • "Harvey Dent. Doesn't make the leap to the villain in the series!

"Gotham", a great show that showcases that moment when he might turn to villainy but then that's where the series just seems to cut things short! This is one of the big reasons that this particular role isn't that memorable.

The Batman, The Brave and the Bold, and Batman the animated series Image

Batman: The Brave and the Bold. You are not going to find the same, intense kind of story as some of the other shows. The tone here, it really emphasizes a different type of action with a bit more of a whimsical, fun, cartoon style that looks like those classic Batman films! This show was super nostalgic for fans.

It brought "Two-Face, to life with two talented actors! Richard Moll. It looked like he took his character quite seriously as he's really had so many recognizable parts in iconic shows and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold." Is just one that comes to mind for him! James Remar, has done his fair share as an actor. "Two-Face" isn't something most remember him for. These roles brought in so many iconic moments, where their appearances weren't always that frequent.

  • The actors worked well with the series and brought in a special character that fans liked but this version wasn't really a highlight.

A bit of a tragedy for those looking to get their "Two-Face. Fix because they both didn't seem to quite get a hold of the core essence and power that has made this iconic figure, over time.

  • Diederich Bader as Harvey Dent, he plays an important part, particularly in the last part of the series.
  • One of the things that might stand out! His transformation from being corrupt, to taking on more hero-like tendencies!
  • While it might not make Harvey Dent all that well-liked or give fans something to root for!
  • He had a notable difference!
  • Two-Face typically doesn't make it seem as if the "good side" or the "evil" side. In this version of the character.

It may have been unique for fans but some who were more hardcore about "Two-Face". May have felt a little cheated because this didn't go into that dark space.

A super creative direction from a legendary star that gave him the moment of recognition.

A series with great moments for fans and a show full of some creative choices as it had a pretty distinct look.

  • Tommy Lee Jones. Had an unforgettable turn as Two-Face in "Batman Forever,"

That includes those moments when Two-Face first steps on the scene.

  • "Batman Forever." Gave an awesome look that some fans were divided about as it brought out that sense of "Two-Face" who is an absolute bad guy. And is even set on stopping Batman to satisfy a vendetta.

That part of the show didn't match up to all the versions. However, he brought so much to the role that some could appreciate! Even if you aren't a big fan, you will never be able to forget Tommy Lee Jones in "Batman Forever" as an over-the-top and amazing addition to that story.

Here is the next level, a great, compelling and sadly cut short. The show brought "Gotham Knights and an inspiring premise! What's more is that it featured some special talent and also took on Two-Face for an epic arc that fans didn't have a chance to see the end to. It looks like this show just might come back sometime! If this isn't possible!

  • Collins takes on the amazing role,
  • A powerful character
  • Harvey Dent as he starts down the path of darkness.
  • Collins's "Harvey Dent", gave us those special moments where he's able to transition over time to becoming a truly epic villain.

That would mean it made "Gotham Knights." More intense and allowed audiences to feel that deep despair for this villain!

The end to the series really did give us a version of Two-Face, with a darker persona and a lot of villainy.
