Why was Richard Gere Banned?
Richard Gere, known for classics such as Pretty Woman and Chicago, made an incredible comeback! Gere, who had Oscar nominations in the past, received a Richard Gere Oscars ban. While presenting at the ceremony, he spoke out against China's political stance, a controversial speech which resulted in a 20 year ban.
What About Carmine Caridi?
Carmine Caridi was the first person expelled from the Academy for sharing Leaked movies. He faced consequences, with a formal investigation. The FBI found out he leaked screener versions of nominated films online. It's also interesting to note that although Carmine Caridi did not win any Oscar nominations, he was allowed to vote as an Academy member.

Roman Polanski's actions caused controversy over many years. His Oscars banned status began after a Sexual assault allegations conviction and flight from the US. Polanski fled the US after being charged with assault of a minor.
Why was Bill Cosby Banned?
Comedian Bill Cosby faced public backlash when multiple sexual assault allegations surfaced! Despite not winning Oscar nominations, he was banned due to violating the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences code of conduct.
Why was Harvey Weinstein Banned?
Harvey Weinstein expulsion is one of the major and important expulsion stories. Weinstein was one of the big names in Hollywood with an incredible career producing award-winning movies.
