Jason Statham Sequels: Which Action Movies Need a Part 2?

Jason Statham is a huge name in action Movies! He's one of those actors that people really love and the action-packed films have turned him into one of the greats, showcasing everything he's got and showing the incredible work of action-movie making.

Statham Sequels We Want To See

Statham's been in so many fantastic films! The most fun part is that many of these could totally get sequels. He's appeared in some big franchises, and his talent shows his versatility for many different kinds of action-packed Movies. Some that may stick out include his amazing stunts and impressive skills for hand-to-hand combat! There are lots of characters that could be in another installment.

Spy (2015)

This action comedy hit the mark and had everyone laughing. Statham really played to his strength in "Spy," a role that let him make fun of his iconic action hero role in a memorable way. This hilarious spy film, written and directed by Paul Feig and featuring Melissa McCarthy and Jude Law really showcased how well he uses comedy in a role.

Feig even mentioned that there could be a sequel and he’s written something (according to the Guardian). It’s a bummer that hasn't happened yet but it’d be really great to have another hilarious look at Rick Ford. This would allow Statham to bring another awesome role that was a huge success to the screen once more!

Homefront (2013)

This film could have totally been a massive series. The script, from Sylvester Stallone was based on the final part of the book. So to actually expand things further is just what we needed! If you have seen Statham, Stallone and the Expendables series you already know that these two stars bring out a super special and remarkable chemistry!

While the original Homefront had mixed reviews. We really got some fun homage from this film which played into those classic action stories of the past. What made this disappointing, is there are plenty of parts to develop, so it really had all that was needed to flesh out the world of retired DEA agent Phil Broker through a few sequels and explore so many moments! While nothing concrete exists at this time, here's hoping one day this happens!

The Beekeeper (2024)

This movie has huge sequel potential. The Beekeeper was super fun to watch! Statham played Adam Clay in this action thriller from director David Ayer. Clay was this amazing beekeeper who got brought into this action-packed thriller that took everyone by surprise!

It introduced a whole bunch of new characters and the story had a unique take that shows off another impressive part of the John Wick franchise. There’s this special energy throughout the whole movie and a really amazing mythos that deserves to keep unfolding, potentially opening it up to another sequel! It looks like the box office was incredibly impressive as well, having taken in $152 million worldwide (per Box Office Mojo).

That kind of response, makes a sequel a certainty!

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Statham totally made his mark in this movie. This movie saw Deckard Shaw and the awesome Luke Hobbs pair up in the very first Fast & Furious spin-off, a surprise pairing!

Audiences were left thrilled at their success as a team! This incredible dynamic between Statham and Dwayne Johnson meant plenty more films with these two were certainly in order, maybe featuring some unexpected heroes and characters!

Fans have their hopes high, with plenty of conversation around Hobbs and a potential sequel, perhaps with Jason Momoa (via MovieWeb) but fans would love Statham to reprise his role as well.

Meg 2: The Trench (2023)

If you love the big budget, spectacular action movies, then make sure to check this out! Meg 2: The Trench, hit the box office in a massive way with around $400 million, worldwide (per Box Office Mojo)! This great success really opened up a new set of audiences and plenty more action and prehistoric sharks, to come. While Meg 3 isn’t official, it’d be quite a surprise if Jason Statham didn't come back! Even the plots already outlined, might mean we have plenty of more adventures of Jonas Taylor to look forward to!

Crank: High Voltage (2009)

This movie is unlike anything else you might have ever seen! It brought Statham into a wildly creative world and seemed very video-game-ish!

In this movie, Statham brought to life Chev Chelios, an assassin who only survives if he keeps his adrenaline pumping!

The crazy plot brings tons of intense excitement! The second one too is amazing but there is huge demand from fans! The director himself, Brian Taylor even teased another Crank movie back in a 2013 AMA (according to Reddit), suggesting the audience may get even more of the wildly awesome thrills that kept Chev Chelios racing against time! What's amazing is the fans that watch it are asking for a trilogy completion that may include even more wild scenes to captivate us all!

Expend4bles (2023)

The Expendables are action heroes on another level! There was a fantastic group who gave these characters an unforgettable style. We also saw the legend of action films take on a special journey.

Statham played Lee Christmas, who became a well-known and powerful addition to this epic saga! It featured all kinds of stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and even Arnold Schwarzenegger. The team was able to introduce a whole set of great performances that also featured amazing stunts.

The most special aspect for Statham was the ending of Expend4bles which allowed him to rise to the very top. As the movie progresses his character goes from this side character to someone truly amazing! Fans who were watching knew a sequel was practically inevitable because these action-filled heroes have plenty to say and lots of more thrilling missions!

Transporter 3 (2008)

If there is a special film series to note as the "Transporter" franchise did a superb job of introducing some special characteristics of Statham as an actor. Audiences were left awestruck at Frank Martin. Statham has tons of fans asking to have a continuation as a sequel to the amazing work this action movie introduced and there was an epic cast to go along!

There was an attempt to reboot this but ended up failing, however. The key to this great series isn't about rebooting the show! The most incredible aspects are from the star-power that Statham created and gave us that incredible view of action heroes. A potential "Transporter 4" might just capture this!

In closing, Statham has made some truly impressive moments, especially when making these epic movies. Whether these have sequels or don't, one thing is clear.
