Movies News Talk
Bruce Campbell is back to face down deadites in an upcoming animated series and we're so excited to find out just what those creators will bring to the small screen. Ever since the amazing "Evil Dead Rise" reboot brought those gnarly Deadites back, things have been totally off the chain!
They're not stopping at a few reboots either! The franchise is so popular, they've been making new movies non-stop. It's actually crazy how much new stuff they have going on. It's basically the superhero genre, except with chainsaws, blood splatters, and a whole lot of "whoa, is that supposed to be happening?" moments. This time, it's gonna be a full animated show! No more live action? Nope.
Here's what everyone's freaking out about - Bruce Campbell is bringing his legendary "Ash Williams" voice to the animated show! It's pretty cool because that means he's reprising the role, even though he said he was done with playing the live-action Ash, because honestly, who would ever try to fill his chainsaw shoes. So we're ready to get an insane and hopefully over-the-top Ash, but what else should we expect?
No details on plot, the title, release date... It's like those animators are going full-on “we don't need those things; it's gonna be so good!” But one thing is sure - this is a new direction that’ll let those creators show us something crazy new!
Remember Sam Raimi’s genius? We are talking about the OG "Evil Dead" director who turned low-budget horror films into masterpieces. There's just so much crazy visual madness in those early "Evil Dead" films. Think about that blood-tornado scene - wild! There was just this awesome level of "gonzo gore" and animation. But they had to limit the effects to those times;
Now that the whole show is animated, it's going to be bananas, literally! They've got unlimited power, So whatever weird animated stuff they come up with - animated blood splatters, that kind of ‘only in animation’ awesomeness, get ready for it!
There's something about "Evil Dead" and slasher-type horror that has those “it’s almost too silly” moments, and Sam Raimi kind of made that into a masterpiece! Just imagine that scene where Ash is chased around with a chainsaw by this head-less zombie thing, or how a "Evil Dead" zombie army always dances – kinda insane, right? That's why "Evil Dead" has that horror-comedy feel, like something right out of "Looney Tunes" or "Tom and Jerry" — but totally bloody. No one else has done horror like this, not before, not now.
What’s so great about Bruce Campbell is that he completely embraced the crazy, campy horror in his portrayal of Ash. We're talking a wild and awesome character! The whole show already is almost a horror cartoon before the animation happens, which makes the transition a natural step to turn the "Evil Dead" into a real animated show.
What does the future of the "Evil Dead" universe hold? It’s like a monster in the "Evil Dead" world — just keeps getting bigger. Those new movies directed by Sébastien Vaniček and Francis Galluppi sound pretty cool! No spoilers but one thing we do know is that Sam Raimi's legacy continues! This crazy-wild movie series just keeps evolving and changing with each new film or reboot — and this animation thing is about to change the entire landscape!
If there’s ever a time to embrace those scary and goofy moments it’s right now! We've already got some amazing movies under Sam Raimi’s belt. We're in for something truly special if the animation world turns into a monster mash-up of horror and humor.
