10. Gideon's Crossing (2000-2001): Early Days of Medical Drama

Dane got some recognition early as Dr. Wyatt Cooper in this short-lived medical drama series, based on Jerome Groopman’s real-life experiences which adds depth and realism. The drama featured notable names Andre BraugherRubén Blades, and Rhona Mitra. Although just a recurring role in four episodes; his skill showcased here led to his far more famous later work and that really matters.

While critically panned, Dane gets to deliver that legendary Multiple Man moment when the government thinks they’ve captured Magneto's mutants, then they learn it’s actually Madrox and his clones, a pretty unique role in that gigantic superhero adaptation.  It demonstrates however those early strides into that industry and some of those opportunities that only happen later and highlights that Dane could always contribute positively, irrespective of the larger narrative choices being questionable!

8. Valentine's Day (2010): A Romantic Comedy Surprise

This 2010 romantic comedy (directed by Garry Marshall) assembled a ridiculously star-studded ensemble including Bradley CooperJessica AlbaJessica Biel, and Taylor Swift!   Dane's portrayal of a closeted gay athlete is notable for having Patrick Dempsey and Dane (McDreamy and McSteamy) from Grey’s Anatomy showing up, adding a great fan service element to the overall movie. 7. Burlesque (2010): A Musical with Dane's Villainous Charm

4. Charmed (2003-2004): A Magical Romance with the Charmed Ones!

Before Grey's Anatomy, Dane had this amazing recurring role in this magical series. He played Jason Dean; Phoebe Halliwell's love interest– someone the fans wanted to succeed but ended amicably enough despite difficulties that these characters encountered as the storyline progressed, creating memorable interactions and adding emotional intensity which the fans loved and a story arc most fondly remembered by many audiences!
