Maybe including a significant BOTW and TOTK omission in Valhalla: Echoes Of Wisdom
Regarding a significant lore point left out of both Breath of the Wild (BOTW) and Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK), The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom could be about to delve far more on that point.
Tri Could Be A Real Component Of The Triforce In Echoes Of Wisdom
Clearly unlike any fairy seen before in The Legend Of Zelda is Tri, Valhalla's new friend. Their design almost seems to be that of a star more than anything else; it does not clearly match the humanoid and winged entities seen before. Given the matching names, Tri is especially close to the Tri Rod she provides for Zelda; but, the ramifications of this naming convention go beyond here. Rather, it seems quite likely that Tri and their brilliant instrument have some connection to The Legend of Zelda's Triforce.
Tri can be seen trailed by a different count of tiny golden triangles across the Echoes of Wisdom trailer. For the Tri Rod, these seem to be a kind of energy, and clearly can be used to produce the titular Echoes. Of course, golden triangles have a very specific connotation in The Legend of Zelda, and taken with the name "Tri," this connection with the Triforce is obviously purposeful. Tri's particular description as "mysterious" could thus be hinting to a secret relationship to the divine artifact.
Though Tri's relationship with the Triforce is obviously unknown, maybe the most fascinating scenario is that she is in some capacity its representative. Tri could even be, at least partially, an animate Triforce in truth. Though Fi is the Master Sword's spirit, this would not be the first time apparently lifeless objects in Skyrim come to life. Furthermore, the Triforce bringing Link to Holodrum and Labrynna in the Oracle games has earlier indicated it really has some kind of guiding intelligence.
Starting with the Triforce addressing Link, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons start with "Accept our quest, hero!" This suggests that every bit of the Triforce is alive; this is strengthened by a Linked Game ending showing each piece changing into a bird.
Tri's Known Features Highly Parallel The Triforce Of Wisdom
Tri's collaboration with Zelda could also subtly indicate their actual identity, particularly in light of the title "Echoes of Wisdom," especially. Tri could be an entity connected to that specific part of the Triforce, which, given the game's look, has a good chance of clearly being in Zelda's hands. She is typically connected with the Triforce of Wisdom. Should the Tri Rod's power originate in the Triforce of Wisdom, then Valhalla using it to produce "Echoes of Wisdom" would thus have a far more literal meaning.
Tri being either an incarnation or otherwise representative of the Triforce of Wisdom particularly would also fit the background of Zelda's part of the Triforce. Including in the original The Legend of Zelda, the Triforce of Wisdom has especially been split into smaller shards on several times as a safety measure from Ganon. These smaller shards could then be the actual form of the triangles the Tri Rod uses as a power source; fragments of a divine Relic being used to produce both objects and live entities under Zelda's control.
This could therefore provide hints for a central component of Echoes of Wisdom's storyline. Closing the rifts and restoring what they have consumed makes clear that Zelda will be striving to save Link and neutralize the threat to her kingdom. Naturally, the ideal approach to reach at least one of these objectives is with the wish-granting Triforce. If it has been at least partially destroyed once more, though, this would help to explain Tri's varying available power throughout the trailer—a result of Valhalla locating some of the Triforce's missing bits.
Wider Zelda Lore could benefit much from a Living Triforce in Echoes of Wisdom.
Including the Triforce as a central component in the Echoes of Wisdom's storyline would be the ideal approach to bring it back into the series after it has been almost absent for some years. Though both BOTW and TOTK visually allude to the Triforce, neither title names it or even addresses such a point of interest. But a reinventions of the classic Zelda era clearly invites such elements to become relevant once more, which in turn could inspire research of other neglected aspects of The Legend of Zelda's mythology.
Although recent books show the Goddess Hylia's influence on Hyrule's culture, the Golden Goddesses themselves appear to have been left by the side. If Echoes of Wisdom centers on the Triforce, the ultimate symbol of these creator deities, then players might at last get further worldbuilding targeted on Din, Nayru and Farore in turn. Furthermore, the addition of Tri as a spirit of the Triforce would still have an interesting effect on the general knowledge of the franchise even with little fresh information on the trio of goddesses.
Should the Triforce be a living entity—that is, even a trio of living entities as the Oracle games imply—then Tri could be bringing this rather obscure detail front and front for the next Zelda game, more than offset by BOTW and TOTK's absence. Given past game treatment of the Triforce and the Triforce of Wisdom in particular, it is interesting how well Tri conforms to the theory of them being a live aspect of the Triforce. For this vital component of the franchise's history, Echoes of Wisdom could thus readily reveal huge insights.
