You can't use a standard sword for combat early in the game. Zelda gets that awesome Swordfighter Form that works exactly like Link – and that's when these amazing bombs reappear, acting as that incredibly effective weapon option. The bombs in the game act in an almost dual capacity; making use of its unique mechanics, players can quickly and effectively use regular bombs. But hold that A button a little longer and that bomb morphs into a controllable Bombchu. They are super useful if you often use the Swordfighter Form.

Compared to those other explosive Echoes (like the wildly unpredictable Bombfish), Bombchus allow some truly precise attacks that make positioning so much more efficient and incredibly helpful; emphasizing its overall value in this title which introduces unique mechanics only made possible by making use of this iconic gadget!

Regular bombs are simple to throw; yet are largely static and don’t actually provide a high level of strategic thinking! Bombchus, however, let you roll and plan their explosion – giving greater freedom and making aiming that much easier compared to traditional bombs and its impact on gameplay itself becomes readily obvious!   While Phantom Hourglass used the DS stylus, Echoes of Wisdom integrates it more smoothly – adding far greater and easily utilized aiming techniques for modern players.
