The game plays almost identically until you get to the end. The most essential part is a scene where Josh is speaking with his therapist, Dr. Hill! Players must make some tough choices here to get this special secret ending.

Choose the lines "They hurt me" and "I'm so sorry" for Josh.
These show remorse! This gets him ready for survival.
To get Josh to this end, you have to locate Hannah's diary. Players playing as Sam will need to do this while completing chapter 10 after talking to Dr. Hill. It will be in the mines next to some water.
It is imperative that you keep every character alive! It looks like that will be a pretty intense challenge!

New Canon

This means Josh survives now and is considered the canon ending! Previously in the original version of Until Dawn, it wasn't possible. Josh always would become a Wendigo, but now? He actually has the chance to move forward! There are more updates! A special ending will happen if you keep Sam alive and that will happen with the latest version of Until Dawn. This adds another cool feature as that gives us a little peek that Until Dawn might continue as a franchise!
