Rumours abound for quite some time that LEGO would be investigating the land of Hyrule. The Legend of Zelda joins other well-known Nintendo IPs as Super Mario and Animal Crossing, which have own LEGO collections.
Nintendo revealed in an X post that September 1, 2024 will be the set date. The article included a video giving a taste of what to expect from LEGO's inaugural The Legend of Zelda release. Right now, LEGO's The Great Deku Tree is pre-order only.
Based on the LEGO website page, the Great Deku Tree set will retail at $299.99 and comprise 2500 pieces. This is perhaps because LEGO's The Great Deku Tree is really a 2-in---1 kit spanning two distinct eras of the long-running adventure series. Comparatively to some other sets, this is not the typical brick-to-- dollar ratio.
One construction is based on the look of the Great Deku Tree in 1998's Ocarina Of Time and the other on the more modern Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom games. Unlike other Nintendo games, the Great Deku Tree set does not now fit an entire The Legend of Zelda range. Falling under LEGO's 18+ "Sets for Adults" series, which are frequently more intricate diorama-type pieces, helmets, or wall art, the set appears to be one-off for now. Lego might not decide to provide The Legend of Zelda its own complete range down the road, as it did with Sonic the Hedgehog following its 18+ Green Hill Zone kit, if the set generates notable demand.
