The Sims 4: Create-A-Sim Needs a Seriously Big Eyelash Upgrade!
The Sims 4's Create-a-Sim: Almost Perfect, But Missing a Key Ingredient!
The Sims 4 has been around for a while now, and EA has done a fantastic job improving the Create-a-Sim system. The initial release back in September 2014 was already light-years ahead of earlier versions: detailed facial features, awesome hairstyles, tons of clothes—you name it! The game evolved even more through various expansions and packs adding goth looks, werewolf features and loads of other cool details.
But even after all that awesome progress, something’s seriously lacking. Those eyelashes. It’s a crucial element of a character that's been largely ignored until now.
Eyelashes in The Sims 4: A Seriously Overlooked Detail
Those early Sims 4 eyelashes? A simple, horizontal black line. Not exactly realistic! Those didn’t add depth to a Sim's appearance like other aspects; in an attempt to pursue greater realism; these earlier versions fail to make this look complete and look believable to audience members; emphasizing the need to re-think these aspects from that level. The new Lovestruck expansion improved this with a new category– adding more detailed eyelashes—however just adding two options? A drop in the bucket! That clearly wasn't going to satisfy this fanbase's demands!
The game aims for realism and making things as complete and beautiful as possible. Those ridiculously simplified eyelashes feel extremely out of place and even extremely underwhelming, and a far cry from what dedicated and committed Sims fans desire!
The Power of Mods: A Glimpse into What's Possible
Fans and devoted Sims players, using that power through modifying the games, creating mods, to achieve various improvements; this clearly demonstrates exactly why the lack of those kinds of detailed elements matter. This clearly emphasizes how important and visually impacting realistic details can be to an entire game that values beauty and realism. And those highly detailed, 3D eyelash mods? Absolutely stunning. Creators like Kijiko show what could be possible—various lengths, volumes, styles– and show how this element could affect things like make-up!
The Sims 4 make-up looks need proper eyelashes. That’s why the existing systems feel incomplete. Adding a larger array would completely address some important points and solve that glaring oversight.
The Road Ahead: Hoping for Eyelash Improvements in Sims 5 (and Beyond!)
Getting those properly detailed eyelashes into the core game would mean fixing this important, significant oversight, and addressing a serious long-held desire amongst long-term Sims fans; especially considering all the other elements improved over the last ten years. This improved level of detail would simply make that whole Create-A-Sim system even more impressive.
Considering that EA announced Sims 5 is not happening immediately; hopefully, the developers would add much more than two eyelash types and not simply “fix” this particular flaw; make this something memorable!
Conclusion: Eyelashes Really Matter for the Perfection of Create-a-Sim
The lack of proper eyelashes has been a thing for a decade, a rather annoying problem with Sims 4, however the future of Create-a-Sim might completely change! This could create even more opportunities for beauty, customization. And improving this seemingly unimportant aspect really shows EA's commitment to detail; and just how much more work needs to be done in addressing other long-held user demands!
