Officially Notcknowledged New Hogwarts Legacy Director's Cut Version
As of right now, there is no official release or comment regarding a revised form of Hogwarts Legacy. Given its scattered release on all of the major platforms, the game lately had a free content update—its most important edition. It's hard to guess even the direction of a Director's Cut for Hogwarts Legacy. The term has mostly been utilized in gaming by PlayStation Studios when unveiling redesigned, content-complete PlayStation 4 games for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
But Hogwarts Legacy already runs on the newest console technology; its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions are first to hit alongside PC. It also lacks DLC expansions; the summer update included the formerly PlayStation-exclusive Haunted Hogsmead Shop adventure on every other platform. Comparatively, both Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut and Death Stranding Director's Cut incorporated fresh material and raised visual fidelity for their release.
New Version of Hogwarts Legacy is Under Development Right Now, Says Reports
Though Avalanche Software, the original studio, is not totally involved, a new iteration of Hogwarts Legacy is under development based on recent reports. Hogwarts Legacy, which exceeded last year's offering from industry behemoth Call of Duty, was the best-selling game of 2023 in the United States; curiously, the Harry Potter spinoff hasn't had any word of a sequel or DLC expansion. It would now seem that another Warner Bros. Games affiliate has stepped in to steer the game through a post-launch makeover.
Bloomberg reports that some of Rocksteady Studios' employees are working on a "director's cut" of Hogwarts Legacy. Given the majority of the Bloomberg article focuses on examining the financial failure of Rocksteady's most recent release, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it is now unknown what this new iteration of the game is slated to feature. While the firm works on "to pitch a new single-player game" following the loss of the live-service game, most of Rocksteady seems to been pushed onto this new edition of Hogwarts Legacy.
Reportedly working on a new Hogwarts Legacy version is Rocksteady.
With a director's cut version coming as all-inclusive package with other possible additions, Rocksteady apparently working on a new Hogwarts Legacy version might be an indication that an expansion is on the horizon. Although the studio is known for its three Batman: Arkham games, which is quite different from Rocksteady's regular output, this may perhaps be a net positive, presumably averting layoffs following the $200-million-dollar fiasco that was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Although fresh material for Hogwarts Legacy might show up at the forthcoming Summer Game Fest, its director's cut seems to be a way off yet.

Though not personally involved in the creation of Hogwarts Legacy, Rowling stands to get royalties from the game.
