Overwatch 2 Season 14: New Tank Hero Phreak Revealed!

Get ready for some major excitement in Overwatch 2! Blizzard is teasing a brand-new hero for Season 14, and this is going to get long-time fans super pumped! Season 13, Spellbinder (with its Halloween theme), is wrapping up around Christmas!

A New Hero For Overwatch 2

This isn't just any hero! Blizzard is bringing back one of those fan favorite characters that was in the game's very early development. That's right, it's an awesome, iconic character coming to Overwatch 2 and looks to give players even more ways to experience this awesome game!

Introducing Phreak

Remember BlizzCon 2023? There were teases for a brand new tank hero, who looks very unique, named Phreak, under the tank category. Reddit user RunItUp showed off an interesting image that suggests what the original design may have been for this special tank class, originally called Prometheus/Project Titan.

This wasn't just any design! The early version of this hero was a human-looking character who would appear in a style that is quite similar to the Junker gang and looks like a really cool concept! You might even think there is a chemical theme for Phreak.

Phreak's Abilities

While there isn't too much known about Phreak's abilities in this game, we know that some of those earlier versions, did not come through to the final product. The name Phreak may be connected to the other factions in Overwatch 2. The Phreak group may actually be Scottish which is sure to add extra character!

From that BlizzCon tease, RunItUp's image shows abilities such as:

Cannon
Stomp
Attract

However, that original set of skills for this hero look way different from what Mauga has already. This image seems to hint that the armor may play a big part in their unique play style.

Phreak's Potential

Nobody knows how Phreak will fit into Overwatch 2. While Blizzard confirmed this is coming! Many fans believe that there's a huge potential to do some majorly interesting additions to Overwatch 2!

Damage reduction. Maybe Phreak will become even stronger as damage dealt to this hero will reflect right back to opponents!
The character might take on a Wrecking Ball-like skill with their spiked armor.

It is sure to be a fun time! This tank hero looks to be super powerful! With tanks already making an impact! Fans who want to join the Overwatch 2 fun will get a fresh Season 14!
