Netflix's New Comedy Series Already Renewed for Season 2 Debuts on Top 10 Global Chart

Tires, a comedy series from Netflix, has crept into the top 10 globally. Tires, starring comic Shane Gillis, chronicles the tale of a man named Will who is entrusted with running his dad's auto repair shop, therefore assuming responsibility for the company and the antics of his cousin and now employee, Shane. Along with Gillis, Tires boasts a top cast of Steve Gerben, Chris O'Connor, Kilah Fox, Stavros Halkias, and Andrew Schulz. Tires season one debuted six Netflix episodes on May 23, 2024.

For its debut season, Tires has lately crept onto the Netflix worldwide top 10. With 3.8 million views, tires ranked number seven on the TV list for the week of May 20 to May 26. Why Tires Season 1 Was Designed for Netflix Success?

Tires seems at first to be an unusual choice for a Netflix-charter. Though it's a sitcom, Tires is a workplace comedy with minimal luxury that deliberately centers on the humor of blue-collar workers. Its ensemble is also mostly obscure; several of them have collaborated on other Gillis projects but only few of them are well-known. Additionally just six episodes make up the series, less than the usual length of a Netflix series.

Still, several elements have helped Tires to be so very successful. Given that Tires season 2 was already confirmed, one point for the show is that Netflix seems to be quite confident in it already. Before renewing Tires for season 2, Netflix did not even wait to see how well it received; hence, the platform probably combined its release with intense promotion.

The triumph of tires

All of these elements almost guaranteed Tires would be successful when it launched on Netflix. With a 50% Tomatometer, Tires is not performing as well among reviewers even if its audience figures are good. Having said that, the show is doing great with fans who have rated its audience approval at 92%. Who knows what Tires can do when it moves into its second week? If it can do only shortly after Bridgerton's release and when allowed only four days in the chart cycle to perform.

Shane Gillis: The Star Power

Part of this faith in Tires probably sprang from the value of Gillis, their star. Gillis, a stand-up comedian who has been acquiring popularity recently, is one of the brains behind the praised sitcom Gilly and Keeves. He has been in comedies all throughout the nation and made a recent guesting on Saturday Night Live. He took part in the Netflix is a Joke Fest, which sold out of tickets.

Many people need a fresh program to check out while waiting for Season 2 after binge-watching Shane Gillis's quick six-episode Netflix sitcom Tires.
