George R.R. Martin is a very well known name among fantasy fans who is now moving into other media avenues such as adult animation. Martin is famously known for writing the "A Song of Fire and Ice" books which later became the popular "Game of Thrones" television show.
Martin has joined Bizaar Studios as an advisory board member where the new company focuses on adult animation and the development distribution of original films and series. It will focus on providing fresh unique concepts within the format of a unique content provider.
Bizaar’s mission is described as wanting to redefine what viewers expect out of this animation style. To push boundries the company intends to bring something both experimental and new from other animators.
Amir Mohamadzadeh and Jeremy Iovine of Rosewood Creative co founded this company and are dedicated to unique art forms. Additionally, Eric Bromberg is co founder as well as President, utilizing his experience at sci-fi/horror media platforms which all create a well rounded board.
In addition to Iovine, and Bromberg, Conrad Vernon well known for his directing in films like “Sausage Party” will join this venture. His directing talent combined with Martin’s story telling will bring together key pieces needed to complete the company vision.
Bizaar Studios is working to team up with independent animators across the world. Their goal is to release and stream these projects through social platforms which would be completely free to the viewers with plans of expanding to large networks eventually.
There is multiple original content being created to include titles like “Dead Horse” “Scrounger” and “Twins in Paradise” which have already been established on their website which gives the impression of much to look forward to.
The author has expanded into the comic book area with the graphic novel "Voyaging" based on his novel “Tuf Voyaging” which shows his love of storytelling even in areas outside of his popular series. With this his love of storytelling has lead him to find methods to engage his passion using other forms of creative outlets.
Artist Raya Golden adapted Martin’s novel into a graphic book with the story following tall bald cat lover space merchant, Haviland Tuf. His skill to create vivid stories translates well in the graphic novel area showing his writing will fit into many different kinds of delivery methods.
One of the concepts touched on is a deep rooted respect for tangible art at a time when digital arts and technology is readily available in all forms. He has been noted to have been heavily influenced from a specific time.
Adam Rowe’s work showcases classic hand drawn artwork which were very popular during the 1970’s while showing the artistry at a time before the takeover of digital art forms. The concepts show how time and style play a major role when looking back. He utilizes his time to remind others to consider this unique time in our artistic history.
